First time I have ever left a BET game early. Disgusted by these guys. They should have to walk back to DC.

Next season's gonna be fun. NIT was the realistic benchmark this season. Season 2 was an improvement. Yeah it feels bad to lose...but we have positive momentum goin forward...program-wise. Better days are ahead

I can spell it. Trey Mourning was not the reason we lost but he didnt help in any way tonight, other than checking in when Pat asked him to because our "best player" shockingly failed to meaningfully contribute. Curious if Trey has ever won a game of horse. I think he plays it a lot- during every game.

Trey played badly, but so did everyone else. Why single him out? I do not comprehend the animus toward particular players.

I think the worst of Mourning’s play was concentrated into a few minutes when the possibility of hope had been restored. I am sure he gave his best effort last night, and unfortunately it was not enough to rise to the occasion.

I have zero doubt that all the freshmen will work their butts off this summer and come back even better. That definitely gives me some much needed peace of mind

Just so frustrating to watch a player continue to try to do things that are not a part of his skillset. Never question his heart or drive.

A few thoughts on this year and a few on what's ahead.
1) Out of context, we reached the destinations I think we could have reasonably hoped for (19 wins, beating X, Nova and Providence, a number of nice road wins, T-3rd in conference, no Wed BET game, a possible NIT bid, ROY, 3 guys on All-Freshman, 1 on All-BE) 2) The bumps along the way are what provide any skepticism moving forward. Our defense really needs to improve and I don't think all the issues can be attributed to young guards and slow footed bigs. The number of games where we didn't show up is concerning (although a number of these followed emotional wins so hopefully the youngins are able to kick that habit). 3) Spring time signings will again be a factor and I'm hopeful we can add wing depth and hopefully someone with defensive capabilities. 4) I think Omer will be a significant upgrade to Govan, especially the Jessie we saw down the stretch. 5) I like the shift to more athletic bigs 6) Despite some of the issues, I do think we've made progress this year and are moving in the right direction 7) Next year will be a barometer for Ewing, hopeful for a nice step forward

I disagree I think they made progress this year and the season is not over yet. They may get a ncaa bid nobody knows how they are going to pick these teams. If not they may play in they nit and no I am not happy about nit but if they go the pressure will be off and they probably win 2-3 games or more.so from 5-13 to 9-9 in big east is a big improvement. You’re just disappointed like everyone else is. We still may have more games to play before it’s over .go Hoyas.

I, despite being one of the more optimistic people on the NCAA bid, am giving it about a 5% chance. Just have to see what happens to ASU as their resume is similar to ours, I like ours better but I'm also biased. Others are very low on us and I see why.

Sorry guys, I don't see any way this team gets an NCAA bid. It would have been touch and go with TWO wins in the BET. We should go to the NIT just for the experience.... and to let the guys know they do NOT want NIT next season.
Progress was definitely made this season. Because so many potential W's were left on the court, and because of the debacles in 2 of our last 3 games, we are ending on a sour note. Maybe that will turn out to be a huge motivator.
James, Mac and Josh exceeded all reasonable expectations and are a great foundation on which to build going forward.
Hoping Pat has some serious success on the recruiting trail over the next few months - HS seniors, decommits, grad transfers.... I don't care where they come from. I just want a couple of kids with toughness, attitude AND talent who can contribute next season on BOTH ends of the court. Need some Ewing era toughness on this team. Our freshmen three have it, gotta add to it.
On balance, team achieved a lot this year. Need another jump up next year.

It’s hard to win when over the course of the last 10 games or so, your first team All Big East center doesn’t show up. Our offense revolves around him getting open for shots and he seemed sluggish and disinterested at times. Jessie had a strong career but I have to say that he had a very disappointing ending.

One of the more inexplicably confounding and disappointing endings to a Hoya career I can ever remember. Has a senior leader and presumptive best player ever faltered and flamed out quite like this?
I love Jessie and appreciate everything he accomplished, but I’m very glad that we are turning the page and starting a new chapter next season. I think this had run its course for all involved.
