One of the more inexplicably confounding and disappointing endings to a Hoya career I can ever remember. Has a senior leader and presumptive best player ever faltered and flamed out quite like this? I love Jessie and appreciate everything he accomplished, but I’m very glad that we are turning the page and starting a new chapter next season. I think this had run its course for all involved. Seems to me you feel this way because you know he's a senior if Jessie were a Jr would you want him off the team?

Why do some fans only seem to be interested when things are going well?

Jessie saved his worst string of games since Ewing took over to the last 5 games of the season. People who are looking forward to a new chapter remain very much interested. Not sure where you are going with that.
With Jessie playing the way he was playing at the end of the year, we simply weren’t good enough to be a tournament team....and Trey Mourning was never going to move the needle in any significant way. If our bigs next year are improved defensively, are more active on the boards, and can provide some of the scoring punch we received from Jessie....we should be in better shape.

Jessie’s body language, energy, poor defense and faltering offensive play down the stretch coupled with Ewing’s post-game comments and in-game decisions around usage/minutes. I think there was frustration and loss of confidence/trust on both sides at the end - inconsistent play and disappointing losses will do that. I’m personally thankful and admire Jessie’s contribution, but at the same time glad we aren’t trying to solve/address Jessie’s role on the team in the off-season. I’d rather try our luck getting Yurt to fit with our 3 rising sophomores, Pickett, Blair, etc.

A bit off topic, but my #2 team is my local UVM Catamounts. Anyone want to see what gritty defense looks like , check out America East Champ game on now on ESPN2. Not to mention the best kept secret in college basketball-Anthony Lamb

Trey played badly, but so did everyone else. Why single him out? I do not comprehend the animus toward particular players. I love this board.....no other board besides maybe the Ivies will you see the word "animus"..its like doing the LA Times crossword....I learn a new word each day...lol
