Q had a bigger game tonight: Qudus Wahab MD - F 18 PTS, 15 REB, 1 AST I wonder if the fans celebrated when he got an assist.

4 field goal attempts vs. Vermont today while the Terps’ starting backcourt had 16 and 18 attempts. As everyone foresaw, Turgeon is going to ask the same things of Wahab but with far fewer plays run for him. Duval Simmonds did Qudus a disservice. If he was born 15 years earlier, he’d have been a lottery pick. But the current NBA wants big men with Yurtseven’s skillset, not Wahab’s. If Simmonds wanted Q to be allowed to shoot jumpers to impress scouts, he should’ve gone down a level. No high major was ever going to let him shoot jumpers, and no high major was going to feature him as much as Georgetown did. This was one of the worst voluntary transfers out of Georgetown in a long time.

Probably would have been scoring 25-30 points a game this year. Killed the Golden Goose. Be careful what you wish for.

Definitely a loss for us, but it won't bother me a bit if it also proves to be a loss for him. UM basketball can go rot.

Only 8 points and not on the floor down the stretch as Mason beats the Turtles in College Park. Looks like the same player as last year.

Tuned into Maryland v George Mason to see how he looked. Hard to tell, as Turgeon barely played him.

Yeah bc if you’re down and you need clutch plays and three pointers he becomes a non option bc you won’t get the ball back and fans are noticing

What's worse for Q is that Maryland FRESHMAN Julian Reese is more of a modern-day post player/center...more athletic, quicker, may be able to stretch the floor! It's looking like Maryland plays a lot better with J.Reese on the floor running with Maryland's quick guards and shooters than Q. There is NO CHANCE something like this would have happened if Q stayed at Georgetown. Q would have had an 02-03 Mike Sweetney-like season where every offensive possession ran through him.

While I enjoy schadenfreude as much as any poster on HoyaTalk...I'm not going to revel in any future decline in the playing career of Qudus Wahab. He was an important part of last year's team, and became the victim of a handler's overzealous actions. I think we all saw the potential for mis-management by the Maryland staff, and it's unfortunate for all concerned.

He'll figure that out eventually unless he develops the kind of game he says he already has.

The Big 10 is going to further expose Wahab. He never saw anyone like Kofi Cockburn, Hunter Dickinson, or Zach Edey in the Big East. Him and Fatts Russell do not compliment each other at all. And Wahab now has a coach without a special affinity for the Center position, and isn't going to want him to put up a shot on every touch he gets. This was a baffling transfer at the time, it would be a shock to see Wahab exhaust his eligibility at Maryland at this rate. Duval Simmonds either doesn't prioritze Wahab's best interests, or is incompetent. Hopefully Wahab distances himself from Simmonds going forward, he doesn't owe that guy anything.

Yeahhhh that was what I was thinking, especially when it would be Q vs Watson in the BE this season for the best C, when I saw that Kofi is back, I didnt realize that they are the same class. Kofi also had significantly higher averages last season across the board (and like 5 points more than Q in a harder conference) and didn't enter the draft knowing he need to improve more due to a limited skill set. So I hope the Big 10 doesn't totally wreck the kid's career but damn smh

DNP CD in 2nd half of a game they should’ve lost to Hofstra. Q might be in the portal again by the end of the semester.

Addition by subtraction (although losing Tre King hurts *unless he comes back)
