I love the "Defensive Musts" listed on the banner in the background. Q-Dub can help with the "Protect the Paint" part.
And yes, Coach Pat is looking great.

Not sure what it is but I'm loving this kid already. Plus, he looks damn good in Georgetown gear.

bustingbrackets.com/2019/06/07/ncaa-basketball-top-25-impactful-freshmen-2019-20-season/10/17) Qudus Wahab, C, GeorgetownGeorgetown has a hole in the middle of their lineup following the departures of big men Jessie Govan, Trey Mourning, and Kaleb Johnson. NC State transfer Omer Yurtseven will be eligible and will take some of those minutes, but Wahab has a great opportunity to play a big role right away.
The 6-11, 235-pounder is relatively new to basketball – he immigrated from Nigeria four years ago – but has progressed quickly over the past few years and should continue to do so under head coach Patrick Ewing’s tutelage.
Wahab is athletic and a good rim protector, something the Hoyas have been lacking. He’s already strong but has the frame to add even more weight and strength, meaning he should develop into the kind of bruiser Ewing wants in the middle.
That said, he’s still raw offensively. He has an inconsistent mid-range jumper and doesn’t have any reliable post moves yet, but his defense and rebounding will allow him to make an impact right away.
Yurtseven is more of a finesse big man with a polished offensive game as a faceup big. Wahab figures to be Georgetown’s best rim protector and, given their contrasting styles, may see the court alongside Yurtseven in the frontcourt.
The Hoyas will still run everything through their backcourt of James Akinjo and Mac McClung, so having a player like Wahab – who can make an impact without needing the ball – is valuable.

Qudus Wahab – Georgetown Hoyas Big East Basketball: Analyzing the top 2019 recruit for each program bustingbrackets.com/2019/06/28/big-east-basketball-analyzing-top-2019-recruit-program/5/C | 6-foot-10 | 230 lbs | No. 131 overall Head coach Patrick Ewing seems to be rebuilding Georgetown basketball in a hurry. Even though he is yet to make an NCAA Tournament appearance as the leader on the sidelines, the program is clearly improving both on the court and on the recruiting trail. Qudus Wahab, a top-150 center, is an excellent addition and he could blossom into a star under the tutelage of the NBA Hall of Fame big man. At 6-foot-10 and 230 lbs, Wahab already brings enough size to the table for the center position and just needs a bit more polish. He will also have this year to learn behind presumed starter Omer Yurtseven. Given this situation, Wahab is in a great place to learn and develop for a couple of years before emerging as a major piece of the puzzle in the future. He already brings an excellent frame and his potential for success on both ends of the floor is there. Wahab uses his body well to disrupt shots around the rim on the defensive end of the floor and can be an elite rebounder as well. His post moves offensively leave something to be desired at this point but that can easily be remedied with more polish.

Qudus was the player of the game vs Texas, for me.
21 min played, 9 pts, 3 reb, 2 blocks, 5 of 6 from the line and only 3 fouls.
With Yurtseven in foul trouble all night the freshman stepped up and played a hell of a game. Congrats and I'm excited to see more to come!

However, the evidence is heavily in favor of Pickett.

However, the evidence is heavily in favor of Pickett. With Yurtseven as limited as he was, Texas could have killed us. They didn't because the whole team played well but in large part because Q played really, really well. Without his contribution I don't see us winning this game. And for a way-under-the-radar freshman, that's impressive.

He was huge defensively today and played much better today than in any other game. Huge improvement and I'm very pleased with his performance.

His mobility for a freshmen especially on defense is tremendous. Seems to have a grasp of his defensive rotations and he moves his feet on hedging the PnR and recovering back to his man. Really impressive on his early development.

Yurt has had foul trouble his whole career. It seems to have improved but we've got an great guy behind him in Qudus.

Q is going to be an absolute stud for us. This game may give him the confidence he needs to have the game slow down for him and make nights like tonight the norm.

I’ll admit I was much more pessimistic on Wahab before tonight, and I still think he’s got a lot to learn, but I do think he will be a good player for us especially as he gains experience. It was nice to see him contribute tonight. And I love guys who make free throws.

Do you thing there was a single scout in the building who was thinking Will Baker is a better player that Wahab? Clearly having 4 near 7 footers practicing together is going to pay dividends this year. Hopefully the time in practice will also lead to our other Freshman bigs growing into great players as well.
