Ahh, over the top negativity is back, feels like Hoyatalk again.
Bunch of quitters you people are. Win the next two and then we'll see what song you people are singing.

On the off chance that we take the next two, I want people to call me out and tell me how off I was. I just can't see it now. If we win the next two, NCAA is on the table. If not, then it's not. But, please call me out if it happens, I'd absolutely love to be wrong. I want to be wrong. I'm not quitting, but a poor performance to lower metrics which were already low and losing a game which was a must win is bad. I'm still going to watch every single game, I've somehow lasted the last 3 years it's way too late to quit.

I do think we take the next two but then drop 2 of the remaining 3. I do think we get a bye and make a BET run to the NCAA tournament hough. This February wall was predictable. They need a week to regroup, rest up, and come at it fresh.

There's a big difference between being competitive for most of the game and losing contact late (Nova) and being in position to win and blowing it late (take your pick, too many to count) vs. essentially being down double digits for 35+ minutes and showing no life.

This team's realistic NCAA chances were gone the day Marcus Derrickson turned pro last spring. Let's get realistic. We are 15-10 with one quality win all year. The remaining 14 wins are over mid majors, or current programs that are even in worse shape than we currently are in. We just gave up 90 points to a team that had lost 5 out of their last 7 games, and has been swept by DePaul this year.
I've thought all year, that a bigger concern for this program was the possibility of not even qualifying for the NIT for the 4th consecutive year, which is something that hasn't happened since the early 70's. Think about that once. We are talking almost 50 years since we have been this consistently bad over a 4 year period. This program cannot sustain the current level of local and national irrelevance.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but we need to make the NIT this year. Thought it was a given after 5-5 but should have know better.

Technically Georgetown has three quality (Quadrant 1) wins this season (@st. John's, butler, @providence), but I guess you might be considering Butler and Providence as being in worse shape than the Hoyas which is debatable.

Updated NET is 79, down only 1 after yesterdays game. Don't know how that is but that's a lot better than I thought. Doesn't hurt much at all except morally which it kills.

But look on the brightside, if Illinois wins out then we may get another Q1 win!

collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2019/02/20/bubble-banter-all-of-wednesdays-bubble-action-in-one-spot-2/WINNERS GEORGETOWN (NET: 81, SOS: 80): During most seasons, Georgetown’s profile wouldn’t merit inclusion in any sort of bubble discussion. The Hoyas played an incredibly weak non-conference schedule. They were 5-7 in the Big East entering Wednesday night. But after knocking off Villanova at home for a Q1 win, somehow, the Hoyas continue to hold an outside shot at an at-large bid. Standing at 3-4 in Q1 contests and 4-4 in Q2 games, Georgetown has been respectable against the limited quality competition they’ve played. The 2-2 Q3 mark and the non-conference schedule will be a lot to overcome during the next few weeks.

RPI up from 97 to 84. Would imagine NET will be somewhere near 70 in the morning.
Hard to imagine that a win on Saturday won't get us up to at least first 4 out. Tonight was simply huge.

I think if we get ourselves in the discussion the Mac McClung intrigue could put us over the top....people will want to see him play in the dance....just have to keep winning....

Florida winning doesn’t help

NET takes into account win/losses over 10 points...does it matter who you play? A 12 point win over the 22 ranked NET team has to help a bit more. Keep the train chugging!

If butler loses tonight I really don’t understand how their resume ya better than ours.
Us: Wins at SJ, va Nova Them: Neutral win vs Florida (and then killed by them second time)

Us: Wins at SJ, va Nova Them: Neutral win vs Florida (and then killed by them second time) Of course they are up 8 now Butler played a much harder non-conference. Their NCSOS is 49 while ours is 241. That's probably the reason for the difference in NET/RPI (Butler: 49/58, GU 81/82). They also have one less Q3 loss than we do. Those games vs. LMU and SMU will continue to be anchors for us.
