LaBlanc is a 4 who is not a shooter, so it’s especially important that our 3 can shoot and drive. hmmmmmm i disagree Josh is an excellent mid range shooter great form and consistancy He will develope and not so sure he cant develope three pointer MONSTER HOYA>

Pickett’s offense has been the single biggest disappointment this season by a wide margin. If he had just given us the shooter he was last season, I have no doubt we would have beaten SJU, Marq and Cuse. I don’t think that can really even be debated. Let that soak in - 4-1 BE. Only losses I think are still losses with frosh Morko are LMU and at Xavier. His soph slump has absolutely crippled this team’s upside. Unfortunate that so much of our upside rested on one player, but that’s where we are right now from a talent and depth perspective. Jess and James have been what we thought they would be. Mac, Josh, Greg and Kaleb have exceeded expectations. And Pickett has disastrously underachieved. In my opinion, the others (Mourning, Jagan, Blair, Carter) don’t play enough to impact the formula materially. Agree LOOK FOLKS coach wanted him to develpe his gamae defense rebbies and blocks and steals and quesss what HES DONE THAT> you know i think as confidence growa he has the ability to shoot threes and if addresses the charges ALSO go to the hoop which helps being open for threess just imo GO MASANHUTTEN.

while pickett’s slump in the offensive end has defintely been disappointing....he’s defensive improvement has been much better than I expected. If he can figure things out on offense....watch out!!

Absolutely. And, FWIW, he came out firing and missing. He's been a solid contributor in many ways that don't show up in box scores. The close games, sure, we could have used his offense. But would those games have been as close without the other things he's added to his game? I really don't think so.

His 3 arc is now reminiscent of Asst. Coach Jon Wallace. A bit, yes. I don't care if he bounces it off the roof if it starts dropping regularly. It's very obvious that he's trying to work it out. It's really all we can ask of him, isn't it?

Have to pull this one out, this one is a game which will matter late in the season. 5-10 could be separated by 2 games, every winnable game matters and this one is winnable.

We just aren't strong enough to have one of our guys on the court who can't score off the dribble and turns the ball over way too much.

Agreed, he has to become more of a threat. He is struggling to expand his offensive game, needs to regain confidence.

He can score without taking anyone off the dribble as we've seen (3's and cuts). He can score without turning the ball over (we've seen a little mid-range from him too). I agree that he should dribble less until he tightens that up a bit. But that doesn't have to affect his scoring. Actually, it could improve it.

Win and we are tied for 3rd in the conference. Lose and we are in 9th. Not sure I can remember such a dramatic swing possibility.

Well when the Big East had the opening day marathon - win and you were (tied for) first; lose and you were (tied for) last😁

I expect Pat to have the guys fired up. This is a pivotal game for the season so far, maybe even a must win.

But that doesn't have to affect his scoring. Actually, it could improve it. None of our bigs (including Govan) have shown any ability to take the ball to the hoop. This lack of scoring threat screws up our entire offense and makes it much easier for teams to defend us. We were really hoping Jamorko would have developed this ability this year but it just doesn't seem to be in his repertoire. Sure he can score on 3's and cuts to the hoop but these have to be setup plays. He has no ability to get his own shot. Obviously Otto or Green would be a huge improvement but even Peak (or Paul White) would be enough to significantly improve our offense. Hey, I'm not saying Jamorko doesn't add to the team in other ways I'm just saying that his lack of ball handling ability is hurting the team.

I expect Pat to have the guys fired up. This is a pivotal game for the season so far, maybe even a must win. This is a "must win" if we have any tourney ambitions. Creighton, DePaul, Provy, SH, and Butler are the teams we must beat at home if we want any chance of making the tourney. I know there are quite a few people on the board that believe we aren't a tourney team but I'm not there yet. I'm unfortunately am a optimist and as long as the team has a chance I'm hanging on tight....
