Here's hoping the disappearing offense reappears and there are boxouts aplenty on the defensive end.

Do we see a new starting lineup? Probably not yet, Josh would be the only change I could see, and I don't think Patrick is benching Trey.

I would start LeBlanc and Malinowski...the first because he's earned it and the second because he brings stability and all around play (especially shooting) to the unit as a 5th year senior...depressurize the others by bringing them off the bench...maybe it will relax them and enable them to provide a lift as opposed to feeling too much pressure to perform out of the gate...this team needs to come out and make amends for a truly woeful effort last night...play like a bunch of wild bangies, but under control...GO HOYAS!

I’d like to set more Leblanc, Johnson and Malinowski, less Mourning, Pickett and Mac.

I have no problem with the loss. Learning process for the kids.
What I want to see is there reaction and how they play afterwards.

While you are probably right I went and charted how the current starting lineup has done at the beginning of each game and 2H to the 1st TV timeout. You can see something clearly needs to be done. These times in the game are way too important. (opponent on left) UMES 4 - 6 6 - 8 CC 8 - 9 11 - 7 Ill 12 - 6 10 - 10 L-M 3 - 6 15 - 2 total 69 - 54

The players need to rebound and make shots. Patrick needs to manage the game better. He seems to get lost in the moments and doesn’t make in game adjustments. How do you not use a time out in the second half to try and break the momentum?

How do you not use a time out in the second half to try and break the momentum? Patrick has actually been pretty good about strategic time outs - his time out 2 1/2 minutes into the Illinois game allowed the young guys to catch their breath and calm down. I did think about a TO last night, but maybe he wanted to see if the young guys could play through the adversity?

Here's hoping the disappearing offense reappears and there are boxouts aplenty on the defensive end. Boxing out is going to take more Leblanc and Mourning and a lot less Govan on defense.

USF will be running a zone against us I can almost guarantee. This team needs some sort of play or lineup that can score on a zone. Against CCSU having Blair and Pickett on the floor at the same time worked. Also, Pickett needs to be more aggressive while Mac needs to play under more control. Hopefully the Hoyas take this game then come up with a set that can score on a zone. Put someone at the free throw line please! Govan, Pickett, Mourning or Malinowski please. Give me a guy with some size who can make plays at the free throw line who will either shoot the ball or make the right pass whether thats's dumping it down low or giving it to one of our guards for a shot/drive. If a zone is stopping us, then we better have that fixed before 12/8.
On the starting lineup front, I feel it should be different each game based on matchups. Govan, Akinjo and possibly Pickett should be safe regardless. If we need shooters in the lineup, we could go small with Blair and Malinowksi or start one of those two with Mourning. If we need defense start LeBlanc and potentially Jagan or Kaleb. If we need athletes, start Mac and LeBlanc. And for the second half, run with the guys who are playing best. If Mac has 15 then play him, if Blair has 15 then play him. Thee's no need for the same lineup to have to play every game with the depth that we have. This team is deep, play everyone in their best situations.

You take out the LMU game and they are roughly even.

We were outscored by the only competent teams we played by 15. Take out L-M and we were still outscored by 5. How did you get the name professor?

Too early to jump ship on the starters...the Hoyas have only lost one game, and those early scores aren't great, but they're not so bad that the staff needs to start thinking about lineup changes yet.

We were ready to jump ship after the first two games because the margin of victory was to small. Then, after the Illinois win expectations went through the roof. Now, with the loss to LMU the ship is sinking again. I think we are way too emotional. We will have some good wins this year, but also some stinkers. Nights where the shots are just not falling.

LeBlanc has outplayed Mourning every game. At least LeBlanc got more minutes than Mourning yesterday, but I think Mourning at 20 minutes is too much. I think if the goal is to start your five best, he should be in there and getting closer to 30 minutes a game. That said, this alone wouldn't solve yesterday's problems. Everyone needs to play better - starters and bench.

If Mac's wide open, he should let it fly. If not, he should see if a pump fake can get him free from a defender's hard close and drive in for a closer shot. I just don't want to see any contested 3's in an effort to shoot out of the slump. Right now, he is not in the top 5 of our 3 point threats so we should never encourage those shots at this point. I'm hoping we get no more 3's from Mourning and a few pump fakes from Blair and Pickett. Also, unless Mosely's shoulder is hurting and limiting his ability to feel comfortable shooting, we need him to put up 1-2 a game at a minimum. We need to set more solid screens in the halfcourt and get some better looks.
