It probably also helps that he’s likely the most eloquent speaker of the group. No, that would be Mourning. Thank you for your unnecessary opinion anyway. Jessie is a great interview as well. He's incredibly thoughtful most times and gives some interesting, real answers. Eloquence is probably an overrated virtue in many ways, anyway, and there's all sorts of implicit bias is what we all view as the "right way" to communicate. But I've found that Georgetown players are usually very effective in both communicating and also often have really interesting things to say -- avoiding the cliches. I think Malinowski was probably taken to the press conference as he played great defense down the stretch and Pat knows that come January the press will be clamoring for the freshmen and Govan. He played some good minutes, let him get some time in front of the press since he deserves it.

What are you basing this statement on? Hearing most of them speak? I applaud most of you didn't take the bait and i did. I take people at face value, but it is clear this guy just wanted to stir the hornets nest and just watch the mess. I didn't recognize him for what he is, I think you young people call him a troll. I have been punked. Now back to matters that are relevant.

Hearing most of them speak? Hey DanMcQ, Can you please address this, I have been coming on this board pretty much since its inception and I know we do not tolerate this bigotry on this board. I think a solid consensus of board members have already addressed this in this thread very well. The poster in question had best reacquaint himself with the Board Rules: hoyatalk2.proboards.com/post/187281... because the board moderators will have a short leash for any further posts that attack student athletes here, however subtle (or not) those posts may be.

Dan this is the same guy, he is pulling his racist BS again but on another thread. McClung had opportunities to pull up and shoot the three. The commentators even wondered aloud why he wasn't taking shots that he was in the best position to take. Well, here's the reason. The kid is so intimidated by Ewing that he is afraid to make a mistake. Mac's confidence is at an all time low. It's been shakened so badly, that Mac truly is afraid to take a jump shot. Anyone who can't see that is blind. Ewing has got to lighten up on Mac when he makes a mistake. Mac is so afraid to make a mistake he's passing up shots he should be taking... and taking without a damned care in the world. When he gets his confidence back, Georgetown's fortunes will be dramatically reversed, because, without a doubt, Mac is the best athlete on the team, and it's not even close. So, Ewing needs to lighten up and encourage Mac to shoot without second guessing himself. Right now, I'm going to bite my tongue and not let the "racism" word slip out, but what I'm beginning to see are two standards emerging with respect to player discipline. Akinjo makes a mistake... a bad pass, a bad shot, a bad call and guess what happens? NOTHING!!! Mac makes even the slightest mistake and Ewing yanks him out of the game. See what I mean? Mac is a much better natural athlete than Akinjo, and if Ewing lets him become his own man... like Jeff Green advises... Mac will lead this team to victory, time after time. Maybe there's no racism involved, but why is Akinjo given special dispensation when he makes a mistake and Mac is punitively benched? nattybumpo3152 and nbhoya IM going to go out on a limb and say they are the same racist individual

Illinois picked to finish 2nd to last in the B1G for what its worth. Good early test for the team. Not going to comment on us but Illini look like a tournament team. They have all the pieces for a tourney run. Hard to believe they are worse than Rutgers and Penn State. And are any worse than Northwestern, Nebraska or Iowa. Hate to say I told you so, but at present, Illinois is 2-5. They are a middle of the pack big ten team at best. Hoping we can find something that works over the next three games so we can take it to Cuse. I think they are a middle of the pack ACC team too.

Illinois has had a very hard schedule to this point and could easily be 4-3. They lost on a shot last night, at Notre Dame, that was 2 inches from falling. Looked very solid against Gonzaga and could've beat Xavier. The only game that they looked bad in was Iowa State who took it straight to them. They've got two very tough games next, at Nebraska then home to Ohio St. Their schedule isn't easy by any means.

I'd love to see us get closer to that number but that is not a cakewalk schedule. 3 were from a tournament though, right?

Correct, the Maui was strong this year and they started With Gonzaga then ISU then Xavier. They played Notre Dame and have Missouri soon too. UNLV and ETSU aren't a cake walks either. Plus the 20 total big ten games they have (9 of which are against top 25 teams). They have gave themselves more than enough time to catch on and win some meaningful games.
