Not too worried about this. maybe he is a UT football fan and wants to go to the game. If you are a 5 star basketball recruit visiting a major football school, then they are absolutely going to schedule it for a home football game weekend. They would be crazy to schedule it any other weekend even if the person wasn't a football fan as the goal is to show what it's like to be in a big time environment and hope that appeals to the young man. he is from Austin orginally I thought. he knows what its like. I think he is just going to the game, not a huge deal.

I've adopted, unfortunately, an Eeyore-like view of Hoya recruiting. . .when I don't get my hopes up, I don't get disappointed. So I read this thread, and all other recruiting threads, with the proverbial grain of salt. If Will Baker commits to GU, great! If not, "well, it's what I expected anyway."
We've got a long road ahead before Georgetown is, again, a premier location for a high school recruit; I think we're largely window-dressing for a high school student/athlete who wants to say that he is serious about academics. It's just a little more difficult for some of us to accept that reality.

I am kind of with nj on this one.
However, going to a football game at UT will remind him that basketball and everything else will always be second fiddle at best in Austin...

It is encouraging that we had a good in home visit, but you are right, I will not get my hopes up unless we get an official visit.
Hoya Madness is still 3 weeks away😎

Thought we had 1% chance before, but now I'll revise to .99% chance based on this news..
I don't think it's a big deal, as others have pointed out Texas is going to be tough to beat regardless..

Treating this news as anything other than, “Hey, I am going to the big game at UT this weekend” is silly.

Still think he is a long shot. If he wants academics, UCLA is ranked higher than grown in most polls.

Corey Evans @coreyevans_10
UCLA’s Steve Alford is completing an in-home visit today with five-star big man Will Baker, a source tells @rivals @rickkimbrel

No I think we got a slight chance. Need him to come for a visit. UCLA will be in the same boat as us. They will have multiple returning big men. So playing time and fit might a uncertain exactly. I think he starts for us and he would come off the bench at UCLA.

He listed the Hoyas as a finalist and you kind of assume that will be followed up with a schedule of official visits to all of his finalists but still no word on when, or if, he will come to Georgetown for a visit. Maybe they are trying to coordinate it for Midnight Madness event and just don't have it finalized yet.

Somewhat odd (or maybe telling?) is that one of the 24/7 guys who had predicted Baker to UCLA changed his prediction this morning to Texas - right in the middle of this supposed UCLA visit.

Until he schedules an official to the hilltop...its probably safe to assume ucla or texas. But the longer this plays out, it has to swing momentum towards our favor right? Fwiw there hasn't been much mention of stanford. He's seen ucla twice and had an in-home...he's obviously familiar with texas and has had an in-home...he's had an in-home with us. You'd like to think the next step is to get an official...but in the meantime we have to wait in suspense. Fingers crossed.

USNWR has UCLA 19 and Gtown 22. That is not "most polls". It's not even a good one, in my view. But it is the first one probably most people look at. I think both schools are very strong academically, so I don't see that being the deciding factor, unless he has things narrowed down by department. I still think the combination of academic rep and being taught by Pat would have to give us an edge, but only if he takes an official and likes Georgetown's campus environment. Hope he visits soon.
