nice! This gives me hope that we're still in the running. An in-home visit is a big step, and Ewing seems to be pretty good at them, too. Star power goes a long way in the living room.

I agree with this sentiment very much, I don't think school visits are as good for Gtown especially when they're going up against programs like UCLA or Texas... Hard for the on-campus experience to compare favorably with schools like that...

There is something pretty fantastic about the campus of Georgetown University when placed in the context of the G'town community and the city of Washington,DC. This is a great city and G'town is part of its fabric.

Some people just don't like "Factories". Washington is special and so is Georgetown. Not afraid to go up against the factories!

Certainly many kids would be wowed in Austin or Westwood, but to some, Georgetown and DC would impress just as much. Texas State House vs. US Capitol and White House?

But I still like to think that even today's high school kids want to see the White House and Capitol.

I doubt very much any of those houses are high on a players factors list... True. Not a huge factor in a decision. But I still like to think that even today's high school kids want to see the White House and Capitol. Know some folks in the UCLA program and they say Baker is a "different cat" -- very polished, very interested in the whole experience, cares about education, world affairs, etc., just a really good kid they said -- put him in front of the media and let them be wowed type. They thought it was wrapped up for them in the summer, but now not so sure. They said this is the one kid where the normal basketball factory type selling points aren't going to get it done. So might give us a shot. As far as campuses, Texas & UCLA will easily win for coeds, social atmosphere/nightlife, weather, etc. Georgetown wins for being a true campus, a community, and having a lot of history, culture, city engagement, etc. -- it's what took Georgetown from not being on my list at all to being #1 and sold me on moving 3000 miles cross-country. So really depends on what a kid wants. Baker may be one for whom a campus visit could help, not just the in-person.

There is only one Georgetown. Exactly. Different recruits have different priorities and preferences. Georgetown has an amazing story and opportunity to present to recruits, but it may not be something that resonates with everyone. For the recruits that value the things that Georgetown can offer it should be a prime landing spot, but some others young players might be looking for something else. The staff needs to continue to focus on kids that WANT to be part of what Georgetown has to offer.

Baker is the recruit I want most for 2019. Position of need, versatile and we are in his final four.

Are we sure that Stanford is totally out of the picture? There aren't many schools that outrank Georgetown academically, but Stanford is certainly one of them...

Not too worried about this. maybe he is a UT football fan and wants to go to the game. If you are a 5 star basketball recruit visiting a major football school, then they are absolutely going to schedule it for a home football game weekend. They would be crazy to schedule it any other weekend even if the person wasn't a football fan as the goal is to show what it's like to be in a big time environment and hope that appeals to the young man.

He already took an official visit to Texas over Labor Day weekend. This would be another unofficial visit.
