Haven't seen too many highlights of him against top flight competion. He played for a team called Mid Atlantic aau team. Wonder why he wasn't playing for team takeover or dc premiere. You do realize his AAU team had another high major kid that committed to Penn State before July pd who’s top 200 kid, so his AAU team wasn’t bad. They also had other D1 kids. They played in UAA event in July against high level teams in players in Went 4-1 finishing in the final 8. Also, you do realize every kid that’s on dc premier or team takeover aren’t good. Markelle Fultz last year #1 pick in the draft didn’t play for either of them. Yeezy not from DC ,so no ties to them. Maybe you should do your research before making comments. He’s top 150 kid so he must have done something right in only one year in the US. He also played in the Bmore Catholic League that had 2 Mcdonald AA. Yeezy scored 25 plus against Oscar Tshiebwe team this summer in front of the whole Gtown staff. the real yeezy has been wearing a MAGA hat too often lately. for yavuz' sake, i'd advise we not call him 'yeezy' until kanye denounces trump or at least puts out his first dope album since 2010.

Stick to basketball Sorry, friend. I was mostly kidding, but now that you’re all riled up, I may as well mention that the kid has been here just over a year from Turkey. I don’t know that he wants to be nicknamed after a rap star who supports a president that is so adamantly anti-immigration.

His Instagram handle is yeezy.g11, so ... possible the Russians hacked it I guess back to hoops ... Blue & Gray board exists for a reason (possibly even a good one)

The team is Mid Atlantic Select. They have beaten Takeover and DC Premier a few times. YG has played well against them. MAS has some really good players on YGs team, but also down to their 2021 / 2022 team. They do things a bit differently and kids who they bring into their program seem to flourish by greatly improving in a few months.

I'd like to know when and where they beat team takeover. Tto has been unstoppable.

I'd like to know when and where they beat team takeover. Tto has been unstoppable. It was a tourney in Philly or somewhere in PA in the late spring. DCB also beat TTO at the same tourney. TTO peaked at for the Peach tourney, but has rough spots throughout the spring.

I'd like to know when and where they beat team takeover. Tto has been unstoppable. TTO does well in their shoe brand tournaments at the end of the season. When they cross to play outside of Nike brand they have tended to struggle. MAS isn't tied to a shoe brand, but was mostly playing in Adidas and UA tournaments, but kept unsponsored. DCB (Fultz old team) mostly plays in Adidas. 6th Man beat TTO and Premier last spring in late rounds of tourneys. Another that is doing really well particularly in the 2021 and 2022 range is Team Durant (they have cherry-picked top players from New World, DC Premier, and Team Loaded) and have put together really solid coaching with really good players. I don't know that Durant has the same killer teams at older ages yet. MAS, 6th Man, and DCB are teams worth sticking around at tourneys to watch and their players are getting a lot of official visits at top D1 schools.

Beraun maybe more of strech 4/pf type. He is 6.9.... northwestern.rivals.com/news/how-will-collins-use-his-new-twin-towers-Jones and Beran may both be 6-foot-9, but there is a lot of difference in their games, according to Evans. Jones is a post player who can play with his back to the basket or face-up. Beran has more versatility and can play on the perimeter as a wing.
In other words, while Jones is more of a Dererk Pardon-type, Beran has a little more Vic Law in him.

Team Durant- Darius Maddox(Class 2020) is one of the top players in the area.

Watching the video in the 2020 thread with YG playing against 2020 potentials I realize he has grown as has his game since I saw him play spring / summer 2017. In this his game has some nice reminders of Otto Porter's game at the Hilltop, but maybe even more polished. I really hope Hoyas are still in the running for YG as a nice long, 3pt shooting wing, with solid rebounding well for transition play. hoyatalk2.proboards.com/post/791834/thread

Virginia Tech got a 247 CB today after his visit. Usually I don't put too much stock into CBs, but the same guy predicted another player who was there that weekend was going to commit yesterday and he did later in the day.
The VT insider made it sound like there is another commitment on the way, and it sounds like it could be YG.
He does still have his OVs scheduled to other schools though.

Other programs have slowed played YG including Georgetown, as he is not a top priority for the programs he listed on his final list. Northwestern, TCU have gotten commits from prospects they have perceived to be higher on their recruiting board. Virginia Tech wasn't even on his final list and not only did they get an OV, they may get his commitment...

The Hoyas interest in Ledlum, Gardner and Shannon seem to have pushed their pursuit of Gultekin to the back burner. I am sure if none of the three commit then I would think they would be more interested in YG, but at that point it may be too late. The kid looks like a good player and I like his versatility but I can see why the staff is higher on the other three players. I think it is refreshing to see the Hoyas in such a good position with so many recruits. It won't mean anything if they can't close the deal on a few of them but I an hopeful they are going to end up with a really strong '19 class.
