6’7” wing. Originally from Turkey, plays high school ball locally in Maryland and AAU for Mid-Atlantic Selects. Staff has seemed to track him since last fall, and offered yesterday. One to watch. Has started to get more high major interest of late.

Seems like a recruiting battle we could win if the staff pushes. Kid is talented and a bit under the radar..

After turning the sound off, that was very entertaining.

Sounds like a versatile kid (a southpaw) with multiple skills (can handle, pass, shoot, rebound his position, good IQ)...seems to be developing, getting better over time as well...I think we need at least one wing in '19, maybe two, along with a developing center (Wahab, Wilson) and a very high level PF (Stewart, Akok, Oscar T?)...Yaboy...would you push to get him from what you know/have seen?

Saw him play at John Carroll quite a bit. Highly competitive kid, he's not soft even though he's skinny. Plays with an edge. Jalen Smith torched him for like 30 and 20 but he was going up against one of the best seniors in the country. He's not a wing, he's a 4 man all day. Can step out and shoot as well as straight line drive. I think he's more suited for a level below but he has the intangibles to develop into a high major player.
He played a lot of 5 at John Carroll, guessing that's why he left.

He's got some Manu Ginobilli in his game. He's a little taller but I like him as a playmaker and an "X" factor when offense gets stagnant.

Turkish native Yavuz Gultekin of Bishop Walsh School (MD) had a strong July as he earned eight offers during the live period. The 6-foot-8 wing has now decided to narrow his list to four schools: Georgetown, Northwestern, Nebraska, and TCU.
Georgetown is a program that really stuck out to Gultekin when they offered and it will be interesting to see how the Hoyas will do this upcoming season. “Georgetown has an incredible history and will reclaim their powerhouse status soon with their hall of fame coach.”
Gultekin has a tremendous amount of respect for head coach Chris Collins since he has ties with Duke. “Northwestern believes in each other and believes in their Duke product coach. They have a very promising future ahead.”
This past season the Cornhuskers made a huge jump and had a positive season. Gultekin is intrigued about how the team operates and is excited for their new coach Armon Gates. “Nebraska is improving every year and I’m excited to see how their coaches will do since he just arrived.”
TCU is another program that Gultekin loves since they had a tremendous season this past year. “TCU had a great season last year and they’re looking for a matured future with their great coach.”
When asked if any visits are set he said, “Not yet but I will go to all of the schools.”

Every interview that I've read he mentions TCU more so than others. One of his more recent interviews he didn't even mention Georgetown.

Weren't those interviews done prior to Gtown officially offering? From what I had read it looked like St. Joe's was considered to be the team to beat but they didn't even make the cut... I like the staff's chances if they make a solid push for him..
