Won't make it to L. Undersized shooting guard w/ barely nascent PG vision - and even if one tries to train one's eye towards ball distribution, if it isn't innate, it's difficult to adopt a pass first inclination. Same as McClung w/ regards to an overseas career beckoning. Hope both fare well in that endeavor, but expending any further attention on them @ this juncture requires more energy than personally willing to marshall.

I told you guys about Akinjo but y'all didn't believe me though. I didn’t realize you were the only one here who thought Akinjo was a good player lol. I think most people here have always thought he was a very good college PG. Some just question his mental makeup, partly due to the fact that he spurned us.

This is the same issue he had at Georgetown. Too ball dominant. Bad habits. Hope it doesn't cost Baylor another chip.

Since this play has also migrated to another thread, let’s clarify that “ball dominant” James is averaging 6.1 assists per game for the former undefeated #1 team in the country, which is even better than the 5.2 apg he averaged here as a freshman.

Most of his stats are actually identical or below the stats of his freshman year. I think the biggest area of growth is his shot selection it seems as he's shooting a high fg% this year then in the past 3 years. So knowing that it was disappointing to see him dribble 15 times in a row and try to play hero ball.

I wouldn't say it's his shot selection, it's the fact he finally developed a floater. His 2 pt percentage is up to 48%, his previous 3 seasons it was 35, 39 and 36 percent. Before, he would constantly get stuffed at the rim because he lacked the size or explosiveness to finish there, now he is opting for floaters. Fraschilla has even talked about it a few times during games about how the Baylor coaching staff works on this with their players. He's always had the ability to get past his defender, but now he can actually finish.

He's been pretty awful 4 out of his last 5 games... Quinerly really got the best of him last week, I knew that was gonna be a fun matchup cus you knew James would go extra hard since Quinerly is a big name PG... they were going at it, getting physical with a lot of jawing back and forth, but Quinerly definitely won the head to head match up and the game. I'm sure he and Baylor will bounce back soon, but there's not many easy games in the BIG 12. I'm curious to see how the rematch with KU plays out in a few weeks.

James made his only two shots in a terific game last night, both with the game on the line. I understand the "shoot first" knock, but I also like a money player.

Where is James? Did he graduate from Baylor? I hope he's ok. Not sure if he graduated but he entered the draft... played pretty well at the G League combine, but didn't get an invite to the NBA combine. He was not offered any training camp or 2 way deals after the draft but he did get a summer league invite with the Hawks. He struggled in summer league playing 3 games off the bench. He averaged 16 mins, 4 pts and 5 assists, but shot just 13% from the field (3-23). He missed the final 2 games of summer league after catching COVID. He hasn't signed with any foreign clubs so I'm guessing his plan is to play in the G League this year and try to earn a call up. I was a bit surprised he didn't get an Exhibit 10 after the draft, like Mac and Pickett did last year and Aminu did this year. James did have a better college career than any of them and players lesser than him certainly got Exhibit 10's this year over him. Tyson Etienne from Wichita State who's basically a 6'2 shooting guard got an Exhibit 10 with the Hawks right after the draft... surprising to me that someone like that would be ahead of James in the pecking order. I wonder if his generally poor attitude had anything to do with teams not wanting to give him much of a chance. Funny enough, his uncle was on Twitter posting a screen shot of Sharife Cooper's terrible summer league stats... as he was the starting PG on the Hawks summer league team and at the time was one of their 2-way players. Cooper was really struggling in summer league and the uncle wrote that James was about to take his spot.

Thanks. James has had a rough road. I wish him all the best.
