The Uncle retweeted this: Interesting... Right because John Doe #1 would have been so content with 20-25 min and sharing time... Please...

Pretty early for some revisionist history from the uncle.... Even the revisionist history is stupid. Mr. Akinjo (assuming that's his name - don't know), meet Lavar Ball. It's really a shame, but if this is the sort of crap that Pat would need to deal with, then we're better off moving on.

Funny.
Commits to crooked program. Bails out.
Spends a year or so at GU. Bails out.
Commits to another crooked program...

Akinjo is in the transfer portal again. Probably not a surprise given the coaching change at Zona and the proliferation of transfers in general.

Good for him. Shows you he is a coveted and good player. Big East rookie of the year. First team all-conference player in the best conference in basketball this year, the Pac-12.
Now playing for the 2021 National champions.

I wonder if we'll ever see Akingo and Mac do a duet together on Ricky Nelson's Travelling Man. Nah, probably not.

I wish we still had Akinjo and Mac. I hope the guys have much success at their new homes.

Dante Harris is more popular now but at the end of his freshman season, Akinjo was a Big East Rookie of the Year recipient with a lot of momentum headed his way. Two years later, Akinjo seems to have a ceiling of around 14 ppg given his poor shooting and he's too small to make it to the NBA, but he can still produce. It's just too early whether Harris will reach Charles Smith heights as a guard or plateau along the lines of Irvin Church (who had a better average as a freshman) or even Tony Bethel. A question for 2021-22 is whether Mohammed and Riley pull shooting volume away from Harris & Carey, or they pick up the shots that were handled by Pickett and Bile and keep 14-16 ppg coming from the backcourt.

Sure, sure. But, Dante is a team guy. James is aggrieved in his first two college seasons even though he's been given every opportunity at both places. Apparently, the problem is the coaches and not James. James isn't an NBA player. Never will be. But, he hasn't gotten that memo. Dante, all day, every day. And, he works his butt off on defense. Twice on Sunday.
