I really hope this is a bounce back game. Our loss in Providence is still for me our most frustrating loss of the season, edging out the home losses to Butler and Syracuse. We played well enough to win but just lost the game in several key spurts of inefficiency. Providence is a good team but a team we should be able to guard and ultimately beat.
I'm sure the team was unhappy about last night, but they need to rebound quickly. There is no pity in the Big East this year.

This is pretty huge game for Providence. They ended up losing today. Do they really make the tourney at 9-9 with a loss to us? I dont know. They still have to play at Xavier. Most have them as one of the last teams in. I suppose they will have the BET.

It's always better to be winning instead of losing in February and March, and that home loss to Seton Hall is tough for them. This game is also important for us. A win would give us a strong chance at the 8 seed in New York, and it could keep the 7 in play if Marquette slips up against DePaul and loses to us on Monday. To the extent we have any chance of getting into the NIT, these two games agains Providence and Marquette are also essentially must win games. As for me, I would just take showing we can avoid a February slump after a tough loss.

Solving Providence is a big part of this team's growth,IMO. I know it sounds dramatic, but they have owned us over the past few years. Id like to win this game as much as any this year. And, if we are going to get back to the top 4 of this conference, these are games we need to prove we can win.

Line now GU -1.5, O/U 147 Lines been bouncing at -2,-2.5 and o/u of 146 the last few days. Federal Hill came in late yesterday to take it down a notch. But. with respect to the Federales monitoring the board, that's all i have on any legal bookmaking. . "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"

Andinos was my go to for along time. Mediterreanos always had the table full of mobsters. Was always scared that I was gonna get whacked for being black in there. lol

The X loss has to be the most frustrating........we out played a top 5 team on the road for 39 1/2 mins...........smh

I use to get some great Hoya tickets in there back in the 80s when we owned the old Civic Center.

Would've likely come down to a couple free throws. Even so, Xavier is such a good team that they might have beat us anyway with enough clutch shots late. Providence just doesn't seem to be at the same level. They are generally well coached and play tough, but they also have gaps in their lineup and struggle to play consistently. Either way, I'm really ready for this game today. Looks like a good crowd shaping up. This would be an excellent home win, and I hope the guys can get it done.

Decent start. Mulmore is struggling though with two giveaways. Some curious shot selection by Providence but good early rebounding. The only real lapse was their three at the buzzer, but that was also a great shot by them.

Good God the refs have been awful all year. Phantom call against Mulmore.

Nice stretch of play there. Got shots from Pickett and Derrickson outside. Dickerson did a nice job in the lane getting a basket. Just have to keep it going.
