I've watched Doutrive quite a bit now and I think the Deion Wright comparison is legit but it's going to take him a couple years. He definitely has a slick handle, solid court vision, and an ability to contribute in a lot of different ways on the court. On the negative side his shot is far from consistent, and he sometimes looked bored/not fully engaged playing for Birmingham this year. He seems to play better when he plays with better players tbh. He can score, but he's better when he can play an all around game rather than being counted on to put up 30.

Now that everyone who had verballed Arizona has backed out there’s a very good chance he ends up there.

Why would you come to that conclusion...I would think that if everybody else has seen the light, he might too, and therefore decide NOT to go there...despite all the denials, etc. if that FBI wiretap conversation becomes verified, I think that would spell the end for Sean Miller and Co...but at a minimum, for DD to commit there now wouldn't seem particularly prudent to me...for us though, we need a visit or all this is moot...

I think Ewing needs to take another trip out west again if we get bounced early in the big East tournament... Go see Doutrive, big man Carl Lewis and recently decommitted point guard Brandon Williams all in the LA area.

If it’s the school he wants to go to, and the coach is staying with the approval of the AD and not backing down, then he will get playing time. Why would he change? He is taking a chance but maybe he’s confident nothing happens.

And I would expect the AD to back his coach - right up until enough proof comes out that he doesn't.

You’d have to ask them. I can’t speak for those players.

Doutrive is clearly a really good player, I just have not seen/heard anything that shows he has a real interest in Georgetown. Does he mention the Hoyas on his social media at all? If we could get a campus visit scheduled with him it would change my opinion and raise some hope but he seems to be a kid who wants to play on the west coast.

1) Watched an interview in January with him where he stated he wanted to play in the Pac. (Bad)
2) His lead recruiter at AZ just got hired to be the head coach at Pepperdine (Good)
3) Not sure how hard Hoyas are pursuing him. :/

I don’t think anyone monitors the landscape of Hoya recruiting like you do.

It was mentioned somewhere that he was down to Gtown and Texas before Arizona offered...after they offered everyone assumed that he was Zona bound until the scandal broke...now, all seems quiet...for us, we need a visit for me to be encouraged...

It would be great if we could land him. One of the last Southern Cal guys we had was Hollis Thompson, and I really liked him as a player.

Stephen Domingo, Wesley Wilson, Kenny Brunner, Kevin Floyd, etc. Not a great track record from the Cali kids.
