Emerging as one of the most sought after point guards on the Eastern seaboard, Harris had Virginia Tech (Buzz Williams), Florida State (Leonard Hamilton), Georgetown (Patrick Ewing), Maryland, Louisville, Wake Forest and Ohio State in the house to see him.

Anthony Harris, PG, Team Takeover It’s difficult to put up gaudy individual numbers when you play for Team Takeover, especially on this year’s loaded, deep bunch that just finished the EYBL regular season 16-0, something that’s never been done before. Among the best players on Takeover is Fairfax (Va.) Paul VI guard Anthony Harris. On Sunday, Harris impacted the game with his defense and offense. At 6-foot-4, Harris is a relentless on ball defender that slides his feet well, plays physical and forces the opposition into tough situations. Harris is dynamic in the open court, a good finisher at the rim, a good passer and a guy that can make shots from deep (11-for-22 from 3 in EYBL). On Sunday, Harris went 5-for-5 from the field, 2-for-2 from three, scoring 12 points in 12 minutes. Recruiting: Ohio State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Maryland 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Cole-Anthony-Anthony-Harris-among-standouts-at-Nike-EYBL-Hampton-118579672

At this point, Harris said Ohio State, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Georgia and Maryland are the schools prioritizing him.

While his offense comes along, four-star Anthony Harris has not backed off on the defensive end. Indiana offered on Tuesday and he showed just why some of basketball’s top name brand programs have become involved. A lock down perimeter defender and arguably the top on-ball guy in the 2019 class, Harris should have no issues leaving an imprint on whichever college program he ultimately chooses. While most rely on their offense to contribute, Harris knows where his bread is buttered as he should be seen as an ace of a defender that competes his tail off on each and every possession. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/what-i-liked-corey-evans-from-nbpa-top-100-wednesday

Harris is not even found within the top third of the Rivals150, but that hasn’t stopped a slew of programs jumping into the mix. Colleges are always on the look-out for high school prospects that can enroll and immediately infuse a sense of toughness and an edge into their program. Harris embodies each where he is arguably the best on-ball defender in America. Virginia Tech was the perceived favorite for Harris prior to the recent uptick within his recruitment, as Ohio State, Wake Forest and the new staff at Louisville remained heavily involved, too. However, UConn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Cincinnati, Miami and Indiana have all offered Harris within the past several weeks. Harris is a day one difference-maker as a defender and it is this elite trait that will make him one of the most watched this month. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/evans-seven-rising-seniors-that-will-draw-the-most-coaches-in-july

Anthony Harris asked for his release today from VT. Not sure if VT would pursue, but I liked him a lot at PVI. If the Hoyas miss on Anthony, he would be the only guard option in the 2019 class worth considering.

Hold off for Davis in ‘20? Baldwin is also out there for ‘20. Harris is a local TTO kid though.

He may miss a lot of the 2019 season.

With his torn ACL from late November/early December, I wonder if Harris will be ready for the start of the season or if he'll need a medical redshirt.

Taking him and redshirting him while he recovers would be perfect. Especially if we have any transfers of our own. He could then work in as the 3rd guard behind Makinjo as a RS Freshman the following year, stepping into the minutes vacated by Jagan. Liked him a lot the first time around, but it felt like we never quite caught his interest. Perhaps the success of Makinjo this year helps remove some of the stigma that Georgetown/Ewing are not where you want to be if you're an elite guard. I hope we at least make the call.

He has the grit and tenacious defense that Pat is looking for. I would take him. Local and TTO kid.

In a hypothetical world... if he came here, I wouldn't be surprised if he played the 2 most of the time (similar to Mac's role). If that were to be the case, I could see us still going after Baldwin/Davis to run the point

Fairfax (Va.) Paul VI coach Glenn Farello told 247Sports they’ll host an open gym for coaches to come by the school to see Harris on April 12 at 3:00 ET.
Harris, a 6-foot-3 combination guard, missed the majority of his senior season after suffering a torn ACL in early December. Harris is expected to make a full recovery.
Above from the 247 article. I imagine Pat and at least one or two assistant will be there.

Can Pat pull his late decommit magic again? This would be a good one to use it on.

We have someone at 6'3 who plays pretty strong D (Jagan Moseley)...the proverbial question is always, can he shoot (especially from 3 at a pretty high percentage)?
