However, that Mitchell was at Baylor doesn't tell us much. Not only did he play very little, but when he did play, he was pretty bad and very inefficient. And, we know from Mulmore's experience that excelling in JUCO doesn't mean that ability translates to being an effective high major player. A couple of things here : - Mitchell's JUCO resume is completely different than Mulmore's - Mitchell is the #1 JUCO player in the nation, played in the most difficult JUCO league, and made the national championship. - Mitchell at Baylor was inefficient in two areas - turnovers and three point shots. His two point shooting was very efficient. His free throw shooting was very efficient. It's not hard to believe that the small sample size was an issue. - we need a guard for next year and if we don't get a good one you can write off season #2 and season #3 is Ewing on the hot seat. It's also unfortunately easy to see how a kid who chose a school in Texas, then transferred to a JUCO closer to home, and whose final list is dominated by SW schools might have rejected us.

I would guess looking at this list that we moved on...and I don't think Dayton and San Diego St. are really in the SW...judging by reports, his Championship performance was very inefficient, throwing up alot of forced shots, etc...the staff observed and likely determined that he didn't fit well...

Would have to think staff has other options, must if not like what they saw after watching him go 9-30... we didn't even make it in his top 5 that included grand canyon and Dayton...

So all the film on the kid prior to this one game get thrown out the window? You have to assume PE saw enough in the practice he watched on the 14th to want to get back to watch him play live a week later right? To think he saw a bad performance in the game & decided to move on doesn't make sense to me.. Not every kid PE recruit is gonna be interested, folks shouldn't take it personally..

even stars like lebron can have a bad game . seeing a kid for one game isnt enough to say he isnt good enough. maybe after talking to Ewing that gave our coach an impression that he may not be what we need and i hope he is right because seems like he is going to Dayton

Agreed. He's the only Juco we should be considering and is not Mulmore the sequel. Watch some Andres Feliz tubes. He could help us. That top tier of JUCO guards is dominated by guys that transferred out of high majors or mid majors. The JUCO guy YaBoy was talking about a page back is probably even better than these kids. Brad Underwood and Illinois have been among those hoping to win out for top 50 point guard Courtney Ramey. Rather than wait on Ramey, Underwood and the Illini took matters into their own hands over the weekend landing a commitment from Andres Feliz, one of the top guards in the junior college ranks. Committed to South Florida in the class of 2006, Feliz was just on the outside looking in of the 2016 Rivals150 before headed off to junior college. At Northwest Florida State, Feliz was good for 20 points and six assists per game as a sophomore. A scorer by nature, Feliz is powerful and quick off the dribble. He's a threat from deep and he plays with a motor. He reminds me a bit of another guy that Northwest Florida pumped out a few years ago, Chris Jones who went on to put up some big numbers at Louisville. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-williams-shines-at-jbc-plenty-of-good-point-guards-left

Must be someone there they like since Kirby was there last week also.
Maybe Galen Alexander (LSU transfer) or Tirus Smith (UTEP transfer)

Very glad to see the staff shaking the JUCO bushes- there is talent to be found! With few exceptions (i.e., Jerome Williams), junior college players have not been effective at Georgetown. Maybe the staff could focus more on local kids that Georgetown seems to ignore, and that end up at Villanova instead. Georgetown's JC players in the Big East era: Ben Gillery ...1987,88 (Hutchinson, KS) John Turner...1989 (Allegany, MD, transferred) Brian Kelly...1991,92 (Cincinnati Tech, OH) George Butler...1994,95 (Tyler, TX, left school) Jerome Williams..1995,96 (Montgomery, MD) Godwin Owinje...1996,97 (Bismarck, ND) Trez Kilpatrick...1998,99 (Neosho, KS) Lee Scruggs...2000,01 (Daytona, FL) Jonathan Mulmore...2017,18 (Allegany, MD)
