The Hoyas are on his Top 10 list. They are the only team that didn't offer. Please please please give us a huge thought Markquis we need you champ! He's just what the doctor ordered if you ask me. You think? What's your take on him, and please, don't say he's too small. We've been through this already with the kid Daquan Bracey about being too small and he's played well at the D1 level. It's about heart over height in this game for some. If the Hoyas keep passing on floor general's like this they will never get back to the NCAA's period. Harlem kid as well. Need Jessie Sapp on him. The Hoyas are the only ones on his Top 10 list that didn't offer. This kid will be someone's jewel and we'll be sorry we didn't get him. He'd play well alongside McClung. Please please please. Who wouldn't be excited about this kid. Where are the comments? Hahaha...

The recruiting chart on verbal commits says the Hoyas have offered him. Not sure if that was the previous staff or Coach Ewing and his staff, but if he still is listing Georgetown as a top ten then I would think they are still in contact.
Who else is listed as schools that have offered him? Any other high major teams???

Hes got major skills from what I can see, I dont understand the reluctance, maybe someone on the board has insight to share about how he is faring against NYC area competition this year.

Kid is fast and shifty. Great court vision. No one is stripping him of the ball. Also, good quick release.

Could probably break a press by himself. Super quick, low to the ground and tight handle.

Thanks. Blindly looking, you would think it would be us Seton Hall & VCU. We have the biggest need by far for his services though. He definitely can pat the ball. He would also have to be an elite thief (disrupting shot timing & passing lanes) to justify that height. I would hate for teams to just shot over him like they do Dickerson.

Sorta like Muggsy was he gets underneath his man. Absolutely. I checked all of this out. Coming from Baltimore and knowing Muggsy and his story I'm all for kids of his stature. We missed out on Bracey he was latest of this Muggsy mold. I think we even missed out on Shawnta Rogers son too. He's even shorter but very effective. Sort of like a Chris Lykes.

I just watched the videos again... Many times we watch prospects dunk, or show ball handling skills in drills. These tapes show him in action being intrepid, relentless, creative, beating defenses. Getting inside, in the lane, dishing off, and shooting. His head is up watching everything, directing the team, and he and the ball are one. What are we looking for in a point guard?.....I believe he has it! Please dont compare him to Trey Dickerson, or maybe, do so. Glad we're looking.

Chris Lykes is now starting at Miami and scored 16 in 30 minutes in a 72-70 loss to BC over the weekend. He struggled a bit with 4 turnovers but hit 2-6 from 3.
The knock on a short PG is going to be their ability to defend the 3-point line, which is becoming a huge part of the game. One factor for Ewing to consider before going "all-in" on a player like Markquis.

Are you kidding me? I love this kid. He's exactly what we need at the point. He has an excellent handle, he can finish despite his size, he can shoot, break a defense down by himself, great passer, creates space and a shot for himself in one on one, plays defense, and can create easy baskets for others. He's exactly what we DON'T have and really need.
Please sign this kid!!!

When Big John Thompson came to Gtown, he brought Michael Riley from Cardoza HS, who was a defensive wizard, quick, fast and dangerous. One of his nemisis was a fellow named Victor Kelly, a 5-6 NYC transfer at Western HS, and a student/understudy of Tiny Archibald. Victor was quick, fast, could jump high, shoot jumpers with both hands (no kidding), and a fan of Jerry West. He too was dangerous! Riley and Victor had some lightening encounters!!! The kind of stuff you would wish was video recorded. I see that kind of excitement in Markquiz...I've seen Chris Lykes plenty of times and he was and is a thrill to watch. If we got Markquiz, I believe we would be happy. On film he plays like whatever we've been looking for in Trey Dickerson, who has been rising to the occassion. We'll see what happens, but I would go after him...we're going to recruit and attract height, but can we get controlled lightening and saavy...just my thoughts@
