You know things are bad when you're referring to scoring two unanswered baskets as a "mini run." Have we had more than two unanswered baskets since Butler? Maybe but i can't remember.......smh Hey, we did finish the Villanova game on a 12-0 run. . . .

Johnson's a junior- he needs to step it up. I was expecting more production out of him after a good summer and with new offensive scheme. Mulmore and Dickerson are seniors and offer little in terms of production. I hope we get the w. I just wish he would shoot more. You can't get out of a slump without shooting......

They brought in five random fans to close out the game.

Same question, under different circumstances, that I posed to glidehoyas in a separate thread. Whose minutes should be reduced to accommodate more minutes for Blair and/or Walker? Pickett and Johnson I’m not sure they even play the same position as Walker.

I’m not sure they even play the same position as Walker. Pickett plays the same position as Blair and Johnson plays some minutes at the same position as Walker. Even if you want to obsess over whether someone is a 3 or a 4 or a 5, last I checked Govan and Derrickson are not playing 40 minutes a game. All I am saying is I like what I have seen in very limited minutes from Walker and would love to see him get some more of those available minutes.

This will be a good test of Patrick’s ability to coach them over the Nova disaster.....

This will be a good test of Patrick’s ability to coach them over the Nova disaster..... Agreed. Hard to assess a lot of Ewing's coaching with this team just 9 months in (though that doesn't stop people from doing so with great certainty!). But we can't lay an egg today. Lose? Sure we could lose, but we have to come out with energy and intensity.

This will be a good test of Patrick’s ability to coach them over the Nova disaster..... Also a good test of the mettle of these players, none of whom can be happy with their performance in the last couple of games.

Coming off of Nova dropping the hammer and drilling the team for the worst loss since 1974, I know the team's confidence is shook. Getting off to a good, fast start is imperative or else not only will the game be a loss, it will get ugly.

St John's will come to play today...evidently they played Xavier close on the road last outing...we have to come with passion and resolve... and be prepared to represent the name on the jersey...we've got to play hard, but smart, and attack on both ends for 40 minutes...take care of the basketball, make the extra pass, knock down shots and get to /convert at the foul line...GO HOYAS!

Absolutely. The difference is that the three is a significantly bigger weapon today. So, you could get away with it (to a large degree anyway) back then. We've already taken 50% more threes this year than we did all of 90-91! And we take fewer threes than 80% of the teams in the country! If you don't do at least a couple of other things extremely well today, you simply can't win without good three-point shooting. I think we recognize our poor shooting (hence how few we take) but there just aren't other good options to make up for it. At least those teams had Joey Brown who was a true PG. Man, I probably shouldn't have said that two letter word I will never forget Joey Brown's steal and subsequent buzzer beater versus UConn.

I think we will win. If Federico Mussolini was still there I'd say we would lose. Since he's playing overseas. We're all good.

That UConn finish was so great. The ball bounced off the UConn guys head (was it Brian Fair?) Joey also hit a buzzer beater in the Big-East/ACC Challenge game against UVA in Greensboro to send the game to OT (which of course we lost, by double digits I think).

I thought it might have been Chris Smith's head that it bounced off of, but I am not sure
