This is a thing of beauty by Creighton. It's just screen after screen on ball or off and just wide open shots all over the place. Yes we play faster now but I still don't see the semblance of an offense other than Jess and MD get down there on the block even though you are out two best 3 point shooters. The “new uptempo” style of play is a disorganized mess. I have seen more organized offenses in W 4th Street. Another double digit turnover filled first half and horrible defensive transition. Creightown plays uptempo, but shares and never stops moving the ball, and transitions to defense. Ewing and staff should be taking notes if they want to increase the pace of play. This is an unmitigated embarrassment against an I ranked team. In Year 1 of JT3 on the equivalent weekend, we took top 10 UConn to the last minute at MCI center following an upset win at ranked Pitt.

Creighton is a very good team and they are exposing the weaknesses we have, especially on defense. You cannot continuously give a great offensive team wide open shots and expect to keep the game close, especially when you’re turning it over a lot.

The Hoyas as currently configured does not appear to be able to run an uptempo offense nor stop an uptempo offense either.

Though they are shooting lights out even when you factor in the openness of their shots.

This team also took Butler into double OT, and Butler in their next game clobbered the number 1 team in he country. Of course creighton’s uptempo is better than ours...they’ve been running this system for years. It’s a process. It’s less important how it runs now than how it runs when we’ve had a couple years of this and guards in the system who are selected and trained to run it. Right now we have Mulmore.

This is what happens when a well coached team plays a badly coached team. Don't try to convince me Creighton has a talent advantage over us. It's not like their guards are beating us off the dribble like most other teams do. This is just screens and moving the ball around.

Signs of life at the end of the 1st!! Umm, get it under ten in the first five minutes of the 2nd? I know! Somebody dose Creighton’s coffee urn! That should work!

If you want a scary thought, Hegner actually is the worst three-point shooter on the floor for them much of the time outside of Krampelj. So technically you want him shooting. Yikes.

But what is the offense? It's not dribble drive, it's not PnR, it's pass the ball around the perimeter until you try to pass it to the post and then pray.

There are no other shots. they are daring guys to make 3s and they cant.

Which team has more talent, that 1st year JTIII team of 2004 or this team made up of mostly JTIII recruits of 2017?

Creighton is really good. We are just outclassed, talent wise. Guys are giving their best.

If you want a scary thought, Hegner actually is the worst three-point shooter on the floor for them much of the time outside of Krampelj. So technically you want him shooting. Yikes. I mean clearly that was part of the defensively philosophy. If you have to give up a shot, make it be him. And they he develops ice in his veins.
