Grown men telling kids what they should be doing on the basketball court is what's wrong with college sports today. The constant tweeting at players is a bad look. But you keep doing you, the program needs your insight! Grown men can be mentors fool! Again, mind your own business. Your supremacy won't work here. What's a bad look is you interfering in folks business. In the past I've been to Hoya picnics, JT3 foundations and all. So W deleted are you saying? Stick to basketball, but I know you can't. I seem to be folks focus. #donthatetheplaya.

You know Glide, you are playing right into the hands of He who must not be named and his minions who want the Thompsons/Ewing out of the Georgetown program. LMBAO. Now, where'd this come from? Guessing? To be honest with you guys ran JT3, & Waters away. Patrick Ewing will always be one of my favorite Hoyas of all time. I'm glad he's here. Hope he grows with this team. Hoya Saxa! Please stop assuming. Is this all you people do? When you're wrong, you're wrong. Just accept this. Ask questions first, you make yourself look stupid.

But it can be construed that you don't approve of him (even though that's not what you are intending) because of the Derrickson and Sodom incidents which plays right into the anti-Thompson/Ewing faction. Like I said you are just being passionate and calling it as you see it but be aware of the faction that want the Thompsons/Ewings' gone because it gives them fuel for the fire.

I would Derrickson, Govan, and Ewing had a bad game today. Hopefully it does not carry over to the St. Johns game. Whether the team wins or losses, it all will fall at the head coaches foot for accountability; good or bad.

But you keep doing you, the program needs your insight! Hey..it he worked for jt3 and knows some of these kids, I am confused at your concerns. Is he not allowed to talk hoops with a player on the team? If Glide drives you crazy with his numerous posts...ignore him. But telling him what he can and cannot say outside this message board seems presumptous to me...unless it violates NCAA rules. Just my opinion. My broader opinion is...folks should not be attacking others on HT. We all love and root for the same team, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as they don't personally insult the players or fellow posters. JMO

Jesse is the best 3 point shooter on the team. Last year for the season he shot 40% (second on the team to Pryor) on 3's. He shot 50% on 3's his freshman year, for the season. So, in his first two years he was the best 3 point shooter on the team (other than Pryor). So yes he is still the best 3 point shooter on the team.
This year he is only behind Derrickson and Johnson percentage-wise on 3's, but he is only taking about 1 per game. It takes 3 point shooters more reps to get going. I think Pickett, Blair and Derrickson are all decent 3 point shooters. But given two and a half years of track record, he is better than them and should be shooting more 3's. That is the modern game.

One horrible game that is an outlier to this point for a team that’s not going anywhere anyway.
Still like the overall direction of the program and I’m choosing to focus on that until and unless I see more of what we saw today.

And we have to move the 3 point line back yet again it’s a joke. Half the time it seems it’s a game of horse instead of basketball.

Govan currently gets open looks from three. If our offense is predicated on Jessie shooting more threes, then players will guard him closely out there. His percentage will drop accordingly.

And we have to move the 3 point line back yet again it’s a joke. Half the time it seems it’s a game of horse instead of basketball. I firmly agree on this. As players have focused increasingly on threes at all levels of the game (middle school, high school, etc.), overall percentages have gone up and it’s warped the game too much in favor of threes. Threes will always be important but I think it would be better for the game if it was more challenging. Another thing I don’t like is the one and one. I would just start the bonus at 10 fouls (or 8 or 9) and have two free throws. A missed one and one is basically a turnover and punishes the team that got fouled. I would also consider adding a 6th foul but that will not happen.

I totally approve of Ewing. Do i think he should've played Sodom more? Yes. Oh, I love the Thompsons from the top and bottom of my heart. When i lost my son to cancer Gtown was there for me. I will never forget the kind heart of JT3. Man im in tears right now. It really hurt me to see coach go through all of what he did. He went out and solved the problem of getting what he needed. A true point guard. Another coach on the court but people couldnt wait another season. Niw they see and know that not having a leader out there on the court hurts us so bad. I have love and tespect for everyone here no matter what but it seems they dont have for me but thats okay. I've been dealing with this all of my life it only makes me stronger. Its all all about love love love.

Haven’t read through any of these posts since after the game, But the effort yesterday from both played, and my opinion coaching staff was horrendous. Not sure if that’s the NBA mentality from Pat still ingrained but waiving the white flag so early to seemingly rest players didn’t sit well with me.

With a little distance from that debacle, I cannot help but wonder if the coach can restructure the half-court offense a little to bring one of Govan or MD out to the perimeter to take more 3s and possibly open the lane a little. It worked for Creighton and MD is at least as good if not better from deep than the Creighton bigs.
Right now the Hoyas are relying upon two freshmen for the bulk of the 3s. However, Pickett is shooting 33% and Blair 32% from deep while taking far more 3s than anyone else. In contrast, MD is shooting 43% and while taking 16 fewer 3s than Blair has made the same number. He has taken 28 fewer 3s than Pickett but has made only 5 fewer. Govan is not shooting anywhere near as well from deep but has taken far fewer shots than the others.
I understand that the move of either post outside could hurt rebounding, but one relatively positive statistic for this team is that Kaleb, Mosley and Mulmore are all decent rebounders. Additionally Walker seems to be strong on the boards. Just a random thought.

I felt that last season Jessie fell a little too much in love with the 3 point shot, to the detriment of his inside game. This season his game inside ten feet is much stronger. I don't mind the occasional 3, but it should not be a focus of our offense.
