Is this going to be like the Mitchell report in baseball where it all depended on whether your trainer got busted or not? Seems like most people will be in the clear unless their agent gets busted with an actual ledger of payments. I guess we'll have to see what evidence they have on coaches or shoe companies funneling money as part of the recruiting process too. This just seems like an agent fishing for clients. This isn't the case, it's a piece of evidence Yahoo got a hold of. As noted today on ESPN, there are some 4000 calls intercepted by the FBI which tie these and other schools. Who are on these calls, and what are they saying about recruits, their players, or other coaches? If this was just Andy Miller trying to curry favor, this would be a serious but limited scandal. No one suggests this is the case.

No one suggests this is the case. I don't think this is the whole case either, but I'm reading plenty of "Is that all?" and "This is a waste/misuse of FBI resources". I don't think whoever leaked this evidence is doing the overall investigation any favors. It's always better to wait and see the entire case in context.

I'm supposing this is good for the Big East and the Big East Tournament.

Syracuse fans are complaining about being included since they are 18-11 (11 wins from a weak OOC, although not as week as ours). He should have just used conference records.

One thought I had last night is that we were fortunate and lucky to add Xavier, Butler, and Creighton to the conference. All three have great home game atmospheres, they have put out very good to elite level teams over the last five years, and they have really helped raise the quality of the Big East.
One of the most important things the conference leadership did back in 2012-2013 was to move slowly and not just add a ton of teams to the new version of the Big East just for the sake of size and expansion. The results since then, I think, have proven that going with 10 teams was the smart plan.
Overall, I would say the Big East has turned out better than I could have ever imagined in 2012 when the "Catholic 7" were looking to form a new conference. Georgetown hasn't done much, on the court, to advance the conference forward, though I still think Georgetown played an important role in giving the conference credibility then, and still to this day despite our struggles.

Funny how we led the discussions around the new conference only to become doormats. The new teams have owned us and Nova took the mantle.

Hot seat for Dave Leitao? Chances of returning: 90 percent The talking heads in Chicago have gone all-in on Dave Leitao. While his third season has brought the most success compared to his first two, DePaul still remains at the bottom of the conference. What adds to the fire surrounding Leitao is the program's brand-new, $175 million basketball arena that ranks among the best in all of college basketball. Leitao has patiently worked to rebuild the Blue Demons' roster through the transfer, grad-transfer and high school markets. DePaul’s new president, A. Gabriel Esteban, came to the university from Seton Hall, a place that remained patient during the more mediocre years of Kevin Willard’s tenure before seeing their breakthrough into a consistent NCAA Tournament team. Could that same patience be given to Leitao? The next several days should provide the answer. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/evans-seven-coaches-on-the-hot-seat

One thing about the BE tournament, the NY media really covers it with knowledge of every team playing in it.

I think St John’s is at a tipping point. We will see whether Mullin and co can capitalize on late season success. But I’m looking forward to the competition. Article on five things St John’s can do nyp.st/2Dgb9nY

So St. Johnsy.
Time for Mullin to step away before this gets uglier.
