I've said it before. Corroboration, corroboration, corroboration. Without it, Michael Cohen's testimony is little more than a circus-like freak0 show. With respect to the discrete issue of conspiracy to defraud the United States by violating federal campaign finance laws I believe this has been sufficiently corroborated. The fact that Trump had an active business interest in a Trump Tower in Moscow is also corroborated -- by Trump's TV lawyer, Rudy.

Watching Trump cultist Jim Jordan on MTP. What a moron. Repeating his talking points and lies. In his faux working class look showing up without a jacket. What an . You Republicans should be very proud of morons like this representing your corrupt treasonous party.
Todd doing a pretty good job of calling out Jordan on his lies and spin and refusal to answer the question of why Trump surrounds himself with convicted liars.

Normally I'm asleep at SNL time but was still amped up after coming home from the game so I stayed up and saw it. It was an excellent mocking of a typical morally bankrupt Republican cultist.

Impeachment is a powerful political tool for addressing a class of important and distinctly political problems, but it is not always the right tool for the job. Politics is inescapably at the heart of any impeachment, particularly a presidential impeachment. It is not just the case that political calculations will inevitably affect how members of the House and the Senate exercise their constitutional responsibilities, though that is certainly true. It is also the case that impeachments require the political act of persuasion to convince the public and legislators in a partisan political environment that the dramatic step of impeaching and removing a high government official is warranted in a particular situation. www.lawfareblog.com/when-impeachment-right-remedy

I don't know how Mueller protects the probe against 'mission creep'. You're looking into one thing and meanwhile Trump commits three or four possible violations of some law or new info comes out forcing him to revisit old material possibly sending the probe spinning off in a new direction. I would think it would be just about impossible to keep up. First, I don't think of it as "mission creep" per se since his authorization from Rosenstein is quite broad. Second, I think that is why he's spun off Cohen to SDNY and part of Manafort to EDVA. The Butina case in DC may end up being relevant but arose out of an independent investigation (the best I can tell) from DOJ, NSD and USAO in DC. To the extent any of these cases reveal evidence relevant and material to his primary mandate re: Russian interference in the 2016 election, Trump's potential collusion with same, and obstruction of justice, he will have access to and cooperation from those US Attorney's Offices. It also protects against any of Trump's further attempts at obstruction of justice in the event Rosenstein and/or Mueller is fired. Think of it like a mob prosecution. I think the entire Trump Organization could legitimately face Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization (RICO )charges. The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly referred to as the RICO Act or simply RICO, is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. The RICO Act focuses specifically on racketeering and allows the leaders of a syndicate to be tried for the crimes they ordered others to do or assisted them in doing, closing a perceived loophole that allowed a person who instructed someone else to, for example, murder, to be exempt from the trial because they did not actually commit the crime personally. HPSCI has hired Daniel Goldman, a federal prosecutor with experience in prosecuting Russian mobs. I suggested RICO as a way to get the Trump Org way back in July 2018 (pats self on back): What lawmakers heard Wednesday sounded a lot like a racketeering enterprise: an organization with a few key players and numerous overlapping crimes — not just one conspiracy, but many. Even leaving aside any questions about the Mueller investigation and the 2016 campaign, Mr. Cohen leveled allegations that sounded like bank fraud, charity fraud and tax fraud, as well as hints of insurance fraud, obstruction of justice and suborning perjury. The parallels between the Mafia and the Trump Organization are more than we might like to admit: After all, Mr. Cohen was labeled a “rat” by President Trump last year for agreeing to cooperate with investigators; interestingly, in the language of crime, “rats” generally aren’t seen as liars. They’re “rats” precisely because they turn state’s evidence and tell the truth, spilling the secrets of a criminal organization. www.nytimes.com/2019/03/04/opinion/rudy-giuliani-trump.htmlThe House Intelligence Committee has hired a former federal prosecutor with a history of trying securities fraud, racketeering and international organized crime to lead its investigation of President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia, the panel announced Tuesday. www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/house-intelligence-panel-hires-former-racketeering-and-organized-crime-prosecutor-to-run-trump-probe/2019/03/05/2e24082a-3f6a-11e9-922c-64d6b7840b82_story.html

Don’t you realize that most people could not care less? Most *Republicans don't. Is this you showing us how you're one of those people who could not care less that the President engaged in a criminal conspiracy? -More voters believe Cohen, a convicted liar, than Trump, by 50-35 -6 of 10 voters say Congress should do more to investigate Cohen's claims against Trump

Cohen turns over to HPSCI edited Congressional testimony which he says was edited by Sekulow -- testimony which he now admits is false as to the timeline for the Trump Tower project, the basis of his guilty plea of lying to Congress. Sekulow, of course, denies it.
