He lied for himself when he did not register as a foreign agent. He committed bank fraud for himself. None of this inoculates Trump but Cohen cannot be described as a “credible witness” by any stretch of the imagination. And he testified that that he overheard a phone call from Stone to Trump relative to Wikileaks, which Stone denies (grain of salt, if not spoonful required). Trump has a world of problems but Democrats taking the word of Cohen as gospel is both hypocritical and dangerous. Nobody is taking his word as gospel but you guys conveniently seem to leave out the fact he lied in service of Trump. Calling him a liar, when he lied for individual 1 (Trump) and using that in defense of Trump is quite the doozy. If a person surrounds himself with cheats and liars what do you think the person employing them wants them to do? NOTES: 1. Cohen can’t technically get a reduced sentence for testifying TODAY per legal analysts who cite Rule 35. (Technically is operable word, here) 2. Cohen has already pleaded guilty to lying to Congress. If he lies AGAIN today that could put him in MORE legal trouble. What is the benefit for lying to Congress? Who is this "master" that is instructing him to lie?

So that we’re ready for the work day, is this the Fox News watercooler talking point or whatsboutism this morning? What to do about the $35k check(s)? You didn’t write about that. What’s the talking point? Or should it just be ignored?

Ok, but he literally brought documents (signed check for 35k) showing the president committed a felony in office.
That's a fact, correct?

I agree. Let’s get the facts. So, no thoughts yet on the 35k check? Let us know when Fox News tells you your opinion

They are likely for the payoffs to the women. I am just not willing to take the word of the convicted liar. Sorry to disappoint you. And Edited.

Amen. There is much more to know and most of it will be very bad, if not fatal, for the Trump Presidency. I simply don’t subscribe to the idea that Cohen’s words are inherently credible. Someone very smart once said, “trust but verify”. Let’s verify.

“Which he says was reimbursement for hush money” “He” is Cohen the convicted liar. The thing is in this battle of who to believe both are known liars, but only one is testifying under oath. Seems like pretty strong evidence that you are quickly dismissing. Is it your legal opinion that If he lied he just committed a felony, more than likely blew up his plea deal, and exposed himself to more jail time? His "master" in this case (Mueller/SDNY) would want him to tell the truth, no?

It was almost comical to watch him take the oath.

You're referring to him lying under oath to serve his master, President Donald Trump? He lied under oath to protect Trump. And now you are using those lies he committed in service of Trump to claim we should be giving Trump the benefit of the doubt on this by default... Interesting

Interesting I have never said give Trump the benefit of the doubt. In fact he forfeited the benefit of the doubt some time ago. However, I would be very hesitant to put all my eggs in the Michael Cohen basket.

What I'm questioning is his incentive to lie in this case. What you claim to be his motivation, serving his un-named "master or to spite Trump, doesn't really seem logical when you look at all of the facts.

I've said it before. Corroboration, corroboration, corroboration. Without it, Michael Cohen's testimony is little more than a circus-like freak show.
