Did you intentionally leave Pickett out...? Should've clarified. This isnt a cryptic way to announce a transfer. Just my best educated guess at likeliest roster construction next year. Two positions affected most for next year are backup PG minutes and a lot of competition at the wing. If guys want to stay and compete, there are options to ease the scholarship crunch. Ighoefe could be a preferred walk on a financial scholly for overseas students I believe.

Would be awesome if we actually had 15 players total on the squad including taking advantage of the preferred walk on rules allowing players who never took officials to the school to have their tuition covered, stipend and meals with the team. For so many years during JTIII, I would look at Syracuse with 18 players listed on their tear roster and wonder why we couldn't do that?

I don’t see how the numbers work, but I’d hate to hear that anyone is transferring. Kids seem to be moving all the time these days though.

It’s likely that Ighoefe took an official visit over the weekend since he had those pictures and videos of him on campus. That would prevent him from being a preferred walk on.

Let the coaches speak, please. How do so many know so much about the inner workings of the team. I hope the team and University has the financial flexibility, and support system to help things work out for the best construction of the team. This young team could be one of the most talented teams we have had in a long time...certainly the biggest. We've addressed many perceived weaknesses and still have talent that is growing and developing. Whatever happens I hope, contrary to these veiled rumors, that Jamorko Pickett is still an essential member of the team! Go Hoyas!!

Six new players next year, plus Yurt who has practiced but not played with the team. A lot of pieces that have to become familiar and comfortable with each other. It may take awhile, hope HoyaTalk can have a little patience 🤔

Talent level has improved, but lots of new pieces. Plus, we have some early high profile tournaments this year.

More new players, but also more consistency in the returning core.

I would never suggest that patience is not our strong suit. It is not our suit at all.

I think it's ok to ask this since I am not mentioning specific players....
Beyond Causal and a tweet I have not seen Gardner's commitment literally mentioned anywhere else. Not on 247, not Rivals, not Bleacher, heck not even the front page of this site.
So I am just wondering can we not formally announce anything until it's confirmed there is a player transferring since Gardner puts us over the limit? I would have to think those 2 announcements have to be somewhat in sync?
...and then from a personal level as excited as I am about Galen, Allen, and Gardner I am equally bummed about who we may lose. I really loved our core group going into this year and still felt there was untapped potential from many players and was hoping we were just adding and not losing. I completely understand this is college basketball and your lucky/fortunate to keep the entire roster from year to year.
Everyone always loves the new shiny car but I think we could potentially lose some real value and strengths with the departure of the "older" model vehicle(s)...

Everyone always loves the new shiny car but I think we could potentially lose some real value and strengths with the departure of the "older" model vehicle(s)... Myron Gardner's high school coach tweeted about the signing, and Corey Evans mentioned it in an article this morning. Georgetown itself can't make an announcement until the player has signed. Technically the tweets say that Gardner has signed, but it's possible that Wahab and Allen haven't signed yet and as we saw last Spring and last Fall the Hoyas have done one press release during each signing period to announce all of the signings during that period.
