What the heck is going on up there? Still in play for Brian Bowen too. Depaul hired Bowen and Campbell's high school team coach (from La Lumiere, one of the powerhouse national programs) as an assistant Crude but effective means of boosting recruting! Don't blame Leito one bit. Desperate times call for desperate measures! Times have been EXTREMELY desperate for over 20 years (besides Leito's first stay as Coach) at DePaul. He can't just go out and recruit against the big boys for BIGTIME talent without the connections. He went out and hired the connections. I believe Leito also hired an AAU Coach from EYBL Mean Street who Coached Brian Bowen as well. I hope Depaul gets Bowen also. Will only make the conference better. DePaul is a comatose Giant in a fertile recruiting area. Leito is a good Coach. All it would take is a handful of quality players to turn things around and show others they can go there and be successful. Moves like this for DePaul will only help them as well as the overall BIG EAST Conference.

But Bowen looked really, really good in the Jordan game. He played more seriously than most of the other guys, taking good, non-flashy shots. He seems to have the whole offensive skill package, and lengthy athleticism. He is real thin, but he should fill out some as he matures physically. He would be a great get for Depaul/the BE.

La Lumiere isn't a one hit wonder either. That is kind of like pulling a coach from Oak Hill. Could be a good thing for them long term. When will that arena be built? That is key to turning things up a bit.

When will that arena be built? Scheduled to open this upcoming season. First game, I believe, is a matchup against Notre Dame.

proof being how eight of the Big East's 10 schools have signed at least two four-star prospects in the past two recruiting classes. The lone exceptions: DePaul and Georgetown -- which is among the reasons why DePaul finished last in the Big East this past season and why John Thompson III is no longer Georgetown's coach.
Bad comment in Parrish article about hiring of coaches to bring in recruits. Not hard to see why we have fallen on hard times.

This is a huge hit to Seton Hall. They were set up to have a really big year if everyone came back, but will not be the same team without Delgado. I am not that surprised that he is staying in the draft, I think he has a chance to be a good NBA player for many years. It is not easy to find guys who rebound as well as he does.

It took a while, but St. John's got on the board in the high school class of 2017 when Bronx native Sidney Wilson committed to the Red Storm. Wilson spent the last year at Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy and had planned to take a post graduate year and be a member of the class of 2018. However, his game took off at Brewster and there wasn't any need to hold off on a decision. A four-star prospect who had risen all the way up to No. 58 nationally in the class of 2018, Wilson is a long and wiry wing with plus athleticism who is at his best as a slasher to the rim and transition finisher. His length and quickness will allow him to develop into a high-level defender if he wants to put in the effort to be one, and his jump shot shows promise. Strength, or lack of it, could still be an issue for Wilson as a freshman, but his addition is a huge one for Chris Mullin and has staff. St. John's has also landed Quinnipiac transfer Mikey Dixon in this recruiting cycle. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/starting-five-two-five-stars-remain-in-2017

No way Macura is still in college. He's been at Xavier longer than Big Brad was on the Hilltop.........

1. Trevon Bluiett is in line to be next year’s Josh Hart Twelve months ago Hart opted to return to Villanova instead of leaving school early for the NBA Draft. Now Bluiett is doing the exact same thing for Xavier. Like Hart, Bluiett is expected to be the Big East Preseason Player of the Year entering next season, returning to a team that has several key pieces back from last season’s squad that reached the Elite Eight and lost to Gonzaga. The 6-6 wing averaged 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds last season as a junior, all while making 91 shots from long distance. Bluiett also scored 25 points in the Musketeers’ Sweet 16 upset of Arizona. It will be interesting to see if Chris Mack uses the Indianapolis native as a skilled four-man rather than a traditional small forward, given Bluiett’s ability to create mismatches on offense. If he mans the “four,” Xavier will need another perimeter player, potentially either Paul Scruggs or Naji Marshall (both top-100 freshmen) to be consistent enough to earn regular minutes alongside veterans Quentin Goodin and J.P. Macura. www.fanragsports.com/cbb/rothstein-files-trevon-bluiett-line-next-years-josh-hart/

Last season at Sacred Heart, McKnight averaged 18.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3 assists per game. He’ll sit out next season per NCAA rules, and then have two years of eligibility at Seton Hall..
