I really like this kid. Definitely hope we stay in the game. It seemed like the Hoyas were pretty involved with Timberlake early on, but that interest seems to have lessened over the last few months as Georgetown is not listed in social media on his recruitment as often as before. Not sure if the player is not interested in Georgetown or of the staff has moved on to other prospects. He seems like a really good local player.

Just please don't choose Providence I can stomach losing him to a true blue blood as his recruitment continues to trend upwards, but Providence would be a real kick in the nards. He is near the top of the list for me 2020. Timberlake, Abdur-Rahim, Davis, Moncriefe and if Cook chooses bball... Cook.

3. Of the 2020 players you saw last weekend, who deserves the biggest rankings bump?
McDonald: We currently have Earl Timberlake at No. 39. It's not a significant jump in how many spots he could go up, but it's always tougher to move up closer to the top. From what I saw, he looked like a five-star prospect this weekend. He's big, strong, athletic and really versatile.
Louisville and Ohio State both jumped into the mix over the weekend and he already had a long list of schools involved. Expect his recruitment to continue to heat up over the next few months.

It seems like the Hoyas have fallen off the screen for Timberlake. At one point it sounded like there was mutual interest but have not seen Georgetown mentioned in connection with him for a while. It is too bad because he looks to be a very good player.

No inside info, but the way I'm reading his recruitment is that he wants to get out of town, but we're keeping just enough tabs on him in case he changes his mind. I hope he decides to stay and come to us, but not feeling too confident at the moment

... If Earl Timberlake ever decides to turn to boxing I would advise putting your money on him for a few knockouts. Seriously, there aren't many more physically imposing wings in the country and he's not just a power guy. He's handling the ball much better, his jumper is coming along and he certainly plays with a level of toughness that can be intimidating to opposing guards. Alabama and Louisville have jumped in of late. West Virginia, Pitt, VCU, Ohio State, Georgetown and many others have been onboard for a while. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/nike-eybl-friday-bossi-s-recruiting-stock-advice

Recruiting: Georgetown, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, South Carolina, Pittsburgh, Alabama, and Providence Timberlake is one of the most intimidating prospects in the 2020 class. The ultra tough wing is built like an NFL defender and isn’t afraid to use his size, length and strength to elbow or bully anyone who invades his space. Not just an enforcer, Timberlake also has impressive ball skills and vision, while he is an improving shooter who can finish with contact and rebound on both ends. He’s someone who should have a very high impact on winning at the college level. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/ContentGallery/Elite-prospects-like-Jalen-Green-Ziaire-Williams-and-Patrick-Baldwin-are-among-the-top-performers-from-the-Nike-EYBL-in-Indianapolis-131995320/#131995320_6

Could the best football prospect and best basketball prospect at DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Md. both be heading to South Carolina next year? The football player is trying to persuade the basketball player. Four-star running back and Gamecocks commit MarShawn Lloyd isn’t just helping recruit for Will Muschamp. His high school friend and four-star small forward Earl Timberlake says Lloyd is helping out Frank Martin as well. “That’s my boy,” Timberlake told TheBigSpur.com on Saturday morning following his official visit. “He tried to get me to commit to here too. We’re going to see.” 247sports.com/college/south-carolina/Article/South-Carolina-Gamecocks-MarShawn-Lloyd-Earl-Timberlake-DeMatha-Catholic--132706392/

Do you have any other officials lined up at this point? Not right now. I’ll probably take some after AAU. What schools do you have in mind that you want to visit? I want to go to Alabama, for sure, that’s one. Pittsburgh, take an official there, maybe Seton Hall. Tony Skinn from Seton Hall has been on you heavily, he’s a Maryland guy, what’s been the message from him? He’s from the area, he always preaches that he wants me to be the first player that he brings to Seton Hall from the area. What do you like about them? I saw the way they played this year; they went in the tournament; I like the way Myles Powell plays. Is Louisville still in the mix, and what’s their message? Oh, for sure, Coach Pegues says the same thing that Coach Skinn says, that I’m going to be his first player from the area that he coaches at Louisville. How about Pittsburgh, they’ve had a guy from the D.C. area, what’s their pitch? I’m real cool with Xavier Johnson and Trey McGowens, so I talk to them like almost every day. They tell me Coach Capel is going to let you play and stuff, and it’s a good school for me. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Earl-Timberlake-South-Carolina-Louisville-Providence-Pittsburgh-132859247/
