If you read any of the Duke boards on Obi, probably a blessing in disguise that we didn't sign him. Unless he somehow had a connection to Waters that was going to help (although I believe that ship has sailed). Duke fans don't have a clue what he can do. He's never played for them. Thing is, no one does. He was a monster rebounder, but that was awhile ago. We have Govan who needs to play and develop at the 5 anyway.

Disappointing because we need another big...either a horse like Obi or a big time shot blocker...

Of course...we need a leader/distrbutor/scorer aka point (hopefully Tremont), a scoring 2Gd as well as a wing (both of whom can make threes) to replace P&P, and the additional big...

I think we're fine in the front court assuming Agau and Mourning return. That's a fine bench behind Govan and Derrickson. If we lose one or more, yeah we'll need another big for the bench, but until then I think we're fine.

Especially with the way the current guys have gotten into foul trouble in the past. Preferably you could find someone who was a really strong rebounder/shot blocker. If they were a 2017 recruit who still needed to develop his offensive skills but could give you a few minutes and help rebound and defend that should be fine. A 5th year transfer who has fully developed game would be great, but I can't imagine there are too many of those guys floating around.

All the talk is that we need bigs and pgs. In fact, from what I can see on the roster, we have Zero small forwards and One shooting guard, Kaleb, who doesn't really shoot well. How about those areas?

Didn't Derrickson play 3 some his freshman year. Seems last year our 2 and 3 guards were pretty interchangeable! In our three guard sets Pryor played the 3 so perhaps in the next year if Kaleb isn't ready, Jagan plays some 3 against shorter teams and Derrickson plays 3 against taller teams? Sad we don't have Copeland or White to dominate at the 3/4 this year!

We lost our 2Gd and SF both of whom were good shooters (esp.3Pters)...Blair is a start, but we need to replace them with SHOOTERS (we have too many relatively challenged shooters)...

I would hope if he was not let go before the summer that Jonathon Wallace is looking at film of their shooting every day and making comments/suggestions on improving the three point shooting of our guards (and for reasons of the talent we currently have the forwards and centers.)

Wallace is in Dallas with Kirby so I assume that means he's still on board even if temporarily.

Cullen Neal, a grad transfer leaving Mississippi is looking for his 3rd school to finish out his career. The kid played for his father (who is now the ex-coach at New Mexico) before transferring to Mississippi. He is a 6'4" shooting guard. His father played him out of position at the point for 2 years. At Mississippi he came off the bench mostly and averaged around 10 points a game. He shot around 40% from deep and around 87% from the FT line. He is cocky and a player opposing fans love to hate. Played weak defense in the MWC but not sure if they got more out of him last year with the Rebels. He is very bright, graduating in 3 years. Always felt when watching him when he played for the Lobos that his talent is equal to that of his high school/AAU buddy, Bryce Alford (UCLA), but he played a much less disciplined game and really needs a disciplinarian to harness that talent.

No. Saw this guy a lot as an SDSU fan. He is a turnover waiting to happen.
