I told everyone to ignore Mulmore's stats, they were compiled in a garbage league. Few listened. But flawed stats is better than no stats.

Interesting...doesn't appear to be much of a player. From Toronto - could be part of building that Canadian pipeline...get this kid a Georgetown degree, take Blair, then get Barrett in the class of 2019?

Alstork stats read as a high volume, high turnover guy. Has anyone actually seen him play? Is his game transferable to high major? Only highish major team Wright State played last year was Penn State, and he was 3 of 18 shooting with 1 assist in a 22 point loss. Alstork's effiency rating on offense was 98.8 - not great, but when you look at his usage, it's a ridiculous 34.7% of all possessions! That's incredibly high and way higher than anybody would likely have in our offense. You can see where his ineffiency comes from - he shot threes at 38.4%, but shot way too many twos and only at 40.6%. That tells me that there might be some good potential for him to greatly increase his efficiency simply by being more selective. If I were coaching him, I would have him focus on threes (if he can shoot close to 40% that alone would make him valuable) and discourage him from taking bad twos. While I have not seen video of him, it's virtually impossible to shoot so many twos, and only hit 40.6% of them if you're taking good shots. So, cut down on the bad shots, and focus more on threes. He also got to the line pretty frequently, and shot FTs at a high rate of 84.1%. I think there's a good bit of potential there. As a comparison, in Rodney Pryor's last year at Robert Morris, his efficiency was 100.9 at 29.4% usage, and this year he was at 112.1 at 23.6% usage. The real key for Alstork would be to make sure he's no longer high volume. Corey Evans @coreyevans_10 Pitt head coach Kevin Stallings is in today for Wright State transfer Mark Alstork, per source

Interesting that he would likely have 2 years of eligibility if he applies for a medical redshirt. Not a whole lot to go on other than he was highly sought after prior to transferring to Duke. If his knees aren't completely shot, might be a nice pickup. Encouraged by the level of schools recruiting him (especially compared to Blair and Kante, for example).

Would he be immediately available? I can't remember the guy seeing the floor at all this year at Duke.

Guess we have to figure we pored over the medical records pretty closely.

I don't think he's anything more than a body. When he was healthy, he could rebound. Very limited offensively. But hasn't been healthy in awhile.

Saw him quite a bit. Good defender. Not a great shooter. Not dynamic off the dribble at all. Obviously, pretty athletic for his size. He's ok....nothing great, nothing horrible

As a freshman at a Rice, Obi had the 2nd best defensive rebounding percentage in the nation. We very much could use that.

Committed to NC State. Keatts' second signee already (he had already inked Lavar Batts, grabbing the former VCU commitment)...also Keatts has hired his assistant coaches. Impressed by how NC State has handled the process of moving onto a new coach - Keatts has gotten right to work.

Whoah. That would be huge. Green Farms too (Tremont connection?)The Dragons open their 2012-2013 campaign Monday against St. Luke's. Besides senior captain Hunter Eggers, back to support Obi includes junior point guard Matt Tate of Greenwich, sophomore Zach Baines of Stamford, 6-foot-6 senior Pat Ryan of Darien, eighth grade sensation Tremont Waters (in his second varsity season) and senior Van Burnett of Ridgefield. www.stamfordadvocate.com/sports/article/GFA-s-Sean-Obi-signs-with-Rice-University-4082010.php

If you read any of the Duke boards on Obi, probably a blessing in disguise that we didn't sign him. Unless he somehow had a connection to Waters that was going to help (although I believe that ship has sailed).

Obi is a graduate transfer; a big risk because of health, and he probably wants to be on a more established team with a better shot at making the NCAA tournament. I would have liked to have him (low risk, high reward potential), but I can see why he'd pick Maryland.
