If a player, such as Terrence Williams, takes express measures that indicate that he does not want to come to Georgetown, such as rescinding a verbal commitment and issuing a new verbal to another school within weeks, I'm not going to waste any more time hoping that he changes his mind again and reverses course. In my view, that is not a player worth pursuing any further (tangibly or emotionally), because he will never be fully committed to the program. We need players that sincerely "buy in;" we've had enough that gave GU lip service and little more.

So how do we think Howard will manage this. His son is non-scholarship I assume. Either way if I am Terrence I am probably not happy. Aren't we getting a bit carried away? I don't know coach Howard personally, but I am putting heavy odds on the fact that he disclosed to Williams all of the things we are seeing now, as part of his recruitment... Not doing so seems absurd Ship has sailed, kid is not coming here - I wish he did but any time we spend gloating/speculating/rooting against kids that choose to go elsewhere (See Seventh Woods, Whitney, Baker etc just recently) is time wasted and a knock on the quality of our fan base... Not aiming this at you directly Metaphor, just feel like we can collectively do better than this... No harm no foul. Just to be clear I was not trying to imply that Terrance should come back to the Hoyas or would. I completely agree the ship has sailed so to speak. I was just pointing out that even if Howard does have a plan to deal with the extra scholarships (and I assume he does or will), it still seems like Terrance could be pushed down the bench whereas at Georgetown (or somewhere else) he had a clear lane to a starting position.

T Williams has made it abundantly clear that he committed to the Hoyas due to his fathers admiration for PE and the Hoyas, but that he was never really sold on the Hoyas. So he pulled his commitment , no problem. I do find it unfortunate that he did so using the cover of the “transfers”. By timing it as he did, he has hurt our recruiting efforts, making PEs job that much harder. Not cool

After he committed, what would have been a good time to de-commit??

After he committed, what would have been a good time to de-commit?? I guess after the dust had settled a bit. If I am not mistaken, he de-committed only one or two days after Akinjo/Leblanc . Like I said, I have no problem with what he did: he and his Dad make the situation clear in the Athletic: it was a family thing. Given that- I just think he might have thought it through a bit and waited. Of course, in retrospect, it would have been better for both him and Hoyas if he had not committed to us at all. t

Just another NBA coach trying to figure out how to build and coach a team of 18-22 year olds.

Has anyone noticed when they talk about Michigan’s heralded incoming class, they don’t mention T Williams? Perhaps it is just me....

I think he made a mistake and would have had more opportunities at Georgetown, but I do think we are better off without someone who is not 100% committed to the program.

I think he will be fine at Michigan and have a good college career. In fact, he'll probably be at Michigan longer than Juwan Howard.
