LJ Peak is having another monster game. Govan has struggled, but he is still the 3rd leading scorer today Can't see the team making a run with him on the bench. peak is getting his numbers in garbage time. govan is a turnover machine and the only run coming is to get it to single digits.

I realize Ike stunk this year but right now I'd take him over MD or Johnson. What's the constant?

It's stupid because nothing in basketball is more important than making shots. When you miss a huge % of the most valuable shot there is, and the one you are relying the most on (for whatever reason), then it's obviously a huge problem. Here's an idea; make another plan. Hoping to shoot lights out from 3 to stay in games isn't a coaching strategy. It's a prayer. And on days when you're this cold, prepare the team to score another way. Agreed. It would be great to have a good plan B. This team doesn't have consistant answers like that unfortunately.

Surprise no center has been recruited for this coming year.

Typical of this team to get you excited they are on to something. Nice no show today with their backs against the wall. No light at the end of this tunnel when Pryor and Peak don't come back no matter how good the hypsters on this board tout this PG.

So jealous of a coach who fires up his players... McDermott makes $1 million a year, according to USA Today. I guess that can be due to the cost of living difference?

I understand being optimistic but nothing this team has done in the past few years should have given you hope.

I've literally made this point multiple times. I believe earlier you said it was "a stupid comment." When I was referring to bigger problems, I was referring to the fact that we don't do anything particularly well including having a well run offense. We shouldn't be relying on threes to win games. Our three point percentage is a symptom of a much bigger problem. That's why we lose. It's awfully superficial analysis to say we lose because we miss threes.

It happens every year but I will say this is much easier to take then the years with the high seeds and the flame-outs in the tournament.

Multiple choice for today's post game press conference results: a)"It's tough." b) "We played hard." c) "I think we're getting better." d) "We're still in it. Seven straight should do the trick." e) "The Big East this year is the deepest it has ever been."

Realize that we don't have enough offensive talent to do anything else. LJ with his drives (his outside shot has abandoned him), Pryor from outside, Jessie when he decides to take good shots - pretty much all we have. The other guys have no game, so chucking from 3 is as good an option as any.

Lousy defense and turnovers / missed shots on offense makes for long nights in this league. You are correct. I've said this for the last three years, when this program doesn't shoot well from the field, it can't and won't beat anyone of significance in college basketball. We show no toughness or discipline on defense, our on the ball defensive pressure in non existent, we rotate on defense as quickly as glaciers move, we are way too loose with the basketball on offense and our shot selection is atrocious. Why are we firing up 22 three point attempts? The last guy I trusted shooting 3 point field goals is now on the bench in a suit and Jonathan hasn't played for us since 2008. It is amazing how far this program has changed from Father (JT II) to Son (JT III). We used to routinely win games when we struggled to score because we took pride in locking down our opponents on offense, pounded them on the glass, and out hustled them for loose balls on the floor. Now we have conference rivals mocking us in the media for how soft our defense is. The culture in this program needs to change quickly. That this program is most likely staring at consecutive seasons of finishing below .500 is disgusting. Tremont Waters better be the second coming of Gene Smith because next year this team is still loaded with guys who have no interest in playing defense and are way to comfortable jacking up perimeter jump shots.

Darn!!! Good rebounding, but nothing shooting and allow the guard to beat us. I was hoping we would steal on, since we had a week to prepare, but maybe that backfired looking at the shooting stats. Again, living by the 3,dying by the 3. Wait until next year!

Final Thoughts:
Foster 35pts, when was the last time a player scored 35 points on the Hoyas?
Hoyas 11 assts vs 15 t's and 3/23 3pt FG's for 13%
Peak 23 pts, Pryor 16pts and Govan 12pts lead the team
Final Grade: F
NCAA bid on the line and the team ends up losing by 17pts. The 19-8 run to start the 2nd half sealed the deal The team is squarely looking at best an 8-10 BE record
NIT or bust here we come.

Kaleb's minutes in the last four games: 17 vs. Creighton (today) 4 vs. Marquette (2/11) 15 vs. Villanova (2/7) 7 vs. Seton Hall (2/4) Because it's always good to use your players consistently inconsistent minutes. JT3, it's on you. Just terrible player management...
