So if the Hoyas are able to pull off a win tonight (and honestly, it won't exactly shock me if they do win because this season makes no sense), what exactly does this mean? We'd get national attention for a couple of days and maybe this gets us on the right side of the bubble. But I just don't see us winning 3-4 more games with our schedule. So if they do beat Nova tonight but then lose to a St. John's or Depaul or Seton Hall (again), what does this even mean. We are consistently inconsistent. Maybe trying to find meaning in these games just doesn't make sense at this point. Can anyone help me find some meaning?

I hope everybody is okay including Tre. Going to Philly is sometimes dangerous.

So if they do beat Nova tonight but then lose to a St. John's or Depaul or Seton Hall (again), what does this even mean. We are consistently inconsistent. Maybe trying to find meaning in these games just doesn't make sense at this point. Can anyone help me find some meaning? I think you are pretty much spot on, except I am not sure a win would even get us national attention. But, this is pretty much the state of things: - We are 4-7. - We are favored by KenPom in only two remaining games: Marquette (home) 53%, and DePaul (home) 88%. That puts us at 6-7. - The remaining 5 games are @ Villanova (9%), @ Creighton (19%), @ St. John's 49%, @ Seton Hall (34%), and Villanova (home) 26%. - So, if we won tonight, and we beat Marquette and DePaul, that'd put us at 7-7, and we'd need to then win two games among Creighton, St. John's, Seton Hall, or the home game against Villanova to get us to the 9 wins we likely need to make the tournament. The odds of this happening are highly unlikely. Now, what if we lose tonight? That means we are 4-8. Even if we beat Marquette and DePaul at home, and beat St. John's and Seton Hall away, we'd still only have 8 wins. Which means we'd either need to beat Creighton away or Villanova home, and both are extremely difficult games for us. So any way you look at it, while a Villanova win tonight would be great, it still doesn't mean a whole lot if we don't play close to perfectly the rest of the way. And if we lose, we would literally have to win every game the remainder of the way (minus one) to reach 9-9. A tall task. At this point, RPI and all that is basically meaningless. For us to get to 9-9, we would, by necessity, get enough good wins to get us on the bubble and likely in the tournament given our strength of schedule and good wins thus far.

Apologies if this has been answered before. When does Villanova determine what games it plays on campus and what games at Wells Fargo. The last time I remember Georgetown playing at the Pavilion was '05. I don't think it's only a matter of a weeknight as I think we played at Wells Fargo in '13 on a weeknight. Tuesday is an open date for both the Flyers and Sixers.

Smaller arenas give a more intimate feel and a stronger home court advantage. Big NBA arenas aren't getting utilized to their potential in today's college game. Once they finish the remodel, I'm sure that the vast majority of their home games will end up in the Pavilion. Especially years when Wachovia is hosting NCAA games.

Let us also accept that despite all the history, we are not an exciting opponent right about now.

I know we played at the Pavilion in 2005-06, but that was because they were in the running for a 1 seed and they were actively avoiding playing at Wachovia to keep it from being considered their "home court" for the purposes of determining whether they could play there in the NCAAs.

Looking at the prediction thread. Has anyone ever watched Nova? Has anyone ever watched us? If Nova plays defense half as hard as they played it against UVA we will be lucky to score 50 points - and commit fewer than 20 turnovers.

We have played in the Pavilion in the following years:
2015 (Saturday) 2013 (Wednesday) 2011 (Saturday)
All other games, at least back to 2007, were at Wells Fargo. In 2013, the Wells Fargo Center was an NCAA site, but it was not in 2011 or 2015.

This whole bus incident is just like the Hoyas season. Its a wreck with JT3 standing on from the side not really doing much and Hoyas are hurt but nobody knows how bad.
Here is hoping to a speedy recovery to Tre and anyone else that may be hurt. The only way this season can be salvaged is with a win tonight as unlikely as it may seem.

the 2013 and 2015 Georgetown away games with Villanova were at Well Fargo. I was there. But don't take my word for it. If you got to Villanova.com Basketball Schedule and look at the years 2012-13 and 2014-15 you will see the place of the game designated as "Philadelphia Pa." as distinct from "Villanova Pa." which is the designation for the on-campus games.

We are "an opponent" for them; we used to be "the opponent" for them. It is really that simple.

They typically play their big draws at WF.

Show up and compete for a full game. As long as we do that, we'll be ok
