Pr, just to be clear - so if we assume that III does not want to resign after this season, you are saying he will not be fired? Does his dad intervene in your scenario? For which side? 😉 I don't think he would want to resign. Remember that one of his stated goals was to win a Championship like his father. But, if from now until May everything implodes around him, then the situation will have forced his hand. Again, this will be done collectively and with class for the benefit of all.

The chances are remote but he can be fired. It will all depend on how poorly we finish, what the public/fan reaction is during that time, and whether the administration believes the program's decline is materially impacting other aspects of the University.
But back to the game - I think the time off helps us and we come out with some grit and energy. I see a close one coming up, we definitely could have beaten them at Verizon.

As a 50 year alum I hate to tell you this but there really is no legitimate D! Georgetown Hoyas basketball without the Thompson family tree. I remember when a big game was GW or Navy. JT2 took this program on his back and carried it into the big time. Maybe its time to break with them but don't kid yourself. Georgetown basketball is the house the Thompsons built. The really big games were St. John's, Seton Hall and. . .Holy Cross. You're right. I was being facetious. Played some "big games" against St. Joes back in the day as well as one or two against Syracuse.

The end of the Thompsons will be the end of Georgetown basketball. All the pro alumni will turn their backs on Georgetown if the Thompsons are unceremoniously dumped and Georgetown basketball will end up being a wasteland for the next 30 years like DePaul. Of course maybe that's a good thing because then the money can be poured into the football program which has been the agenda all along of He who must not be Named and his multiple minions. You, sir, should be committed. In case you haven't noticed, Georgetown basketball ended a couple of years back. There is nowhere left to fall when you are now a perennial doormat. And with two consecutive seasons in the conference basement, that is what we have officially become by definition.

Let's at least be accurate about our level of suckitude.

Anyone watch DePaul lately? With Cain and McCullum they are no longer doormats. They almost surprised Nova and should have beaten Butler today. Ninth place anyone?

I think we are headed down the stairs without the basement light on.

This game is setting up to be the type of game where we will play well for 35 or maybe even 38 minutes but not get it done. The Myles Davis departure is big news at least in the sense that it suggests that not all has been well in the locker room of late. Of course, his presence hasn't helped, so it may be an addition by subtraction situation. Either way, I think we are catching Xavier at a point at which they are a little off their game (same with Creighton mid week). We have also had almost an entire week to practice and put the Providence game behind us. We seem to do better when we have time off games to prepare and rest up. I actually expect a competitive game tomorrow, though I doubt that we will be able to pull the upset.

C'mon guys, not even any whistling past the graveyard today? All we need to do is shoot about 70% from the field and 90% from the line and we got this!

I'm pretty excited to watch this game. Xavier is much more beatable then last year. We've had a week worth of practice. The guys have plenty of bulletin board material.
We may still lose and make mistakes but I'll enjoy rooting for the plays made and effort given.

For the first time in years, I'm going to skip watching the game. I'm not giving up on the Hoyas, I just literally can't stand to watch our program and legacy being decimated. Maybe next game I can watch again...

It's my wife's 60th birthday, so I have already spent hours cooking breakfast, baking a cake, grocery shopping, vacuuming, etc. - just so I can earn a couple of hours to watch the game. My Hoyas had better appreciate it and reward me with a victory!
