Let's be real,we started off 0-4 in big east.that pretty much killed any NCAA chance.we are 2-14 in last 16 or so. In big east play,so talking ncaas is foolish for this team.not tough enough on defense and to much inconsistency on offense.if peak or Pryor has a bad game Hoyas do not have enough scorers to overcome it to win.next year I think with waters coming in we can squeak in ncaas.he will give us a true point guard.for that to happen though depends on Mosley being a scorer more.he needs to really work on his jump shot because waters will be the point.mosley can hit some threes and score about 10-12 pts a game will give us4 Scorers. In waters, derrickson, peak,Mosley.we need 4 scorers. Go Hoyas.

This team is making the tournament. 8-5 the rest of the way, 2-2 against Villanova and Creighton with no bad losses will squeak them in. Go Hoyas, they will do it, I believe, eat the banana.

It's obviously an uphill battle, but there are plenty of opportunities to gain some big time wins. KenPom currently projects us at 7-11, so going to have to win at least 2 games, maybe 3, to have a shot. The neutral court win against Oregon will look huge if they can work themselves onto the bubble. I'm certainly not betting on it but I'm still holding out hope. I actually think the more important thing to aim for is the 6th seed in the BE tournament and only having to win 3 for the title.

This has not worked for us the last couple of years. Time to try something else - 3 games at a time.

1 and 5 in the Big East and we are about to play 3 ranked teams. Even the biggest optimist would agree that our tournament chances are done.

Zero. Technically we could run the table and make it in. But realistically, zero.

Stick a fork in it. We are done. Can next year be this bad or even worse?

I am excited to have Waters next year, but who exactly is he going to feed for open shots? If Peak leaves, we will struggle to score 50 points in conference.

I was just looking at Joe Lunardi's latest bracketology on ESPN, there are some really mediocre teams that are listed on the bubble. Teams like Houston, Wake Forest, Illinois, Pitt, Michigan, and Georgia. Boy have we fallen when we can't even make that list of juggernauts.

Yeah, that's the sad part - making the tournament isnt even that hard. We could probably be the 5-6th best BE team and make the tournament, but we cant even do that. Just awful.

Do negative numbers apply to this situation? The only way we make the tournament is if we pull a Miracle Braves. I guess that could happen if each team remaining on our schedule loses three or four starters to injury or academic problems.

The saddest part is that we probably will not even come close to making the NIT for the second year in a row. Even Esherick made the NIT except for his final season (and the season he turned down the NIT invite in the rudest way possible.

As one who was there when GU was the center of the the college basketball universe, I know you know just how incomprehensible the current state of affairs truly is. I am reminded of the great Micheal Ray Richardson's famous quote, "the ship be sinkin' "

It really is hard to believe that 33 years later, we are just about as far away from a Final Four as any major conference team in the country.

I know how blessed we were to be there for those years and wish every GU student into perpetuity could experience what we did. Saddest part is that right now, I am not sure we have even bottomed out. As I sit I my office and look at 1984 NCAA memorabilia and a framed autographed Ewing jersey, I feel as if that were a century ago...
