Shakiness down the stretch when Cuse started using that press, but otherwise a much improved performance. Lydon was near unguardable, but the rest of Cuse was less than impressive. There is no Malachi Richardson or MCW on that team to drag an otherwise lackluster group to a completely undeserved Final Four this year.
Hope the upward trend continues and maybe we find a press break to throw into the mix by the time we get to BE play. UNCG won't be a pushover, and we can't afford another mid-major disaster, so hopefully JTIII is keeping them focused.

Peak and Pryor will get the praise but Mulmore won that game. he played really well today. Was a freat ball mover and got the ball moving in the 2nd half and got pryor shots. Also he actually stayed in front of the ball at the end instead of giving up easy layups the last minute which could have done us in. This is a great point. There's one play where he just stopped Gillon's drive cold. Huge improvement from the Maryland game where we were basically a revolving door at the end

Ran into a fellow Hoya fan at halftime today who, sadly, summed the game up perfectly. "Georgetown-Syracuse used to be a war. This is more like a pillow fight."
But I will take a win over Syracuse whenever, wherever and however we can get it. Walked out with plenty of Orange fans grumbling about how lousy their team is. Then again, Lunardi (boob that he is) had them as a #9 seed yesterday. If they were anywhere near that, the win today would look good on our resume. But I still want them to lose big and often.

Ironically, it was pointed out in today's broadcast that Jay Bilas thinks the game is more physical now than it was in the early 80s. I think that's the most ridiculous comment I've ever heard in a CBB broadcast. Frazier, I hope you ate a ton of free pizza and guzzled more than your fair share of free beer. I'm glad your Hoyas got you an early Christmas present.

When things don't play out the way he wants, it's obvious by the strain in his voice that he has to report what he's seeing. I'd say he's talented but needs to just be more objective and not an ESPN yes man which is what he's been forever. He learned nothing from working with Raftery for that year or two that they did games together. I think he was always annoyed with Raf because he's so well liked and just does it his way.

Bilas comes off as a bright guy but arrogant as hell. Raf is the exact opposite with regard to delivery. He obviously knows the game but his fandom and enthusiasm for it really comes across. It's nearly impossible to fake that. Dukie V being the best example of that. Vitale has his pet teams. Raftery is just a fan of the game and does excellent prep work. I've never watched a game of his and wondered whether he knew the team or not. Bilas? I know the answer to that prep question every time he does a Georgetown game. Keep him doing ACC games. Those are the games he actually watches and the teams he knows.

Well the Syracuse board banned me tonight for posting some things of interest over there. They even took down the threads that were started which were some of the more interesting commentary on that board.
I thank you ADMIN and Dan for being much more open minded hosts than what that orange crew has. I said nothing bad and that board just cursed at me today after that game today for pointing out what happened. Glad we are from a University of a higher intellectual standard.

The only eagle droppings left are in the game prediction which I think I won on that board. I'll eagerly await my prize.

Couldn't catch the game live (other than a few glimpses of the smartphone) as family matters called, but just finished catching up via DVR and reading the game thread... He-uge, sweet win at the Carrier Dome! Congrats to JT3, the staff and the players for playing in a difficult scenario and winning... looks like JT3 has JB's number! Great effort and great finish!
Almost everything has been covered in this thread. Like someone else mentioned in the days prior to this game, we have two scoring studs in Peak and Pryor, and we need to compliment them with the player who is hot of Jessie or Bradley, and the hot hand of the point guards. The fifth player depends on the situation.
Agau at 90% FT... Again, great work during the off-years! And MD at 89%! Pryor at 53% from 3!!
A recurring theme lately is that Jessie has backed off his 3-point attempts. He is 3 of 5 (60%) for the season and hasn't tried one since Elon. I know Pryor and Peak are en fuego, but it is too powerful a weapon to keep it stashed away. We need the opponent to be thinking of yet another angle to cover.

Perfect read on Bilas. He could be really good if he just learned to enjoy the game of basketball more.

I'm going to put it here also for discussion purposes.. Seems like the team is starting to get it.. How about the smiles on both LJ's and Rodney's faces when III says it's always a big win for the program when you win at the Dome. Just love it. These two are locked in and it's starting to have a trickle-down effect to everyone else

Marcus had a number of wide open looks at the foul line against the zone. If he starts making them we will be a three headed monster and that much harder to stop.

I think the season hinges on his returning to form and Govan continuing to be consistently reliable in production. We need those two to help take the scoring pressure off of Peak and Pryor.

Yes and also getting more offense out of Hayes and Agau. Actually I think the team will need the scoring contribution from an extra perimeter guy like Kaleb (whom III called the most improved going into the season) than it will from someone like Agau. Peak and Pryor are playing ridiculous minutes.

Was not available to post yesterday, but this win as part of a 5 win trend will really help our confidence, going into the BE season. It's amazing how free-throw shooting really makes a difference and Cuse has had, historically, very poor free-throw shooting teams. I had no idea how high our F/T shooting ranked in the Country. Great job LJ, Rodney, Jessie and all who contributed to this emotional win. Go Hoyas, keep this positive energy going.

Peak and Pryor are playing ridiculous minutes. Yeah, we need more from our other guards big time. LJ and Peak can put these numbers up with week long breaks between games but it will be hard to sustain that in-conference. I want to see more Tre off the ball, still think he's best shooter behind LJ and Pryor. Don't know why we haven't been playing Kaleb at all, maybe he's still injured?
