Yeah, I saw that article Etomic. I don't get how he just listed us a couple months ago coming at him hard and now we're not listed at all. However, we were at his game today so it's just confusing to me These kids are so far from a decision that very little of this stuff matters at this point. Next month it will be a different list of schools, and when EYBL starts it will be a different list from that list..lol

The blue bloods will drop in and out of the picture because they can. Lists are also meaningless unless they come directly from the kids' mouth. Writers are going to mention the top programs for clicks.

Another thing is sometimes kids list the schools they want to recruit them hard, not the ones that in actuality are. See David Beatty, Rafus...

I define elite as top 50. 10 to 15 are gone after one year. The guys after that should be really high level college players.
I'm glad we have stayed away from Rafus. Just a bizarre situation and not good enough to warrant it.

Hoyas not listed in latest Rivals article: A number of schools have come calling for McCormack, the No. 54-ranked prospect in the 2018 Rivals150, and he discussed the three that have been most involved. Virginia Tech: “Coach Buzz (Williams) is a very intense coach but relationship wise, we keep in touch. I see him as a family member that you want to be around and get better.” Kansas: “Coach (Jerrance) Howard is the coach I talk to. I would have liked to see Udoka (Azubuike) play a little more but unfortunately, because he has the injury, he has to sit out for a while. I want to see how he develops in the future and how that would impact me.” Louisville: “Coach (Rick) Pitino is a legendary coach; he does a lot of things well. How they have been developing their bigs, they have more of a skill asset rather than a powerful asset. They like their bigs to be able to shoot and dribble and all the above so they can be a dominant player.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/interest-high-in-four-star-big-man-david-mccormack

You think we're going to beat out an active Duke offer on a top 50 kid? i think any kid who isn't a top 15-20 talent in their class is making a big mistake if they choose to attend duke, kentucky, kansas, or arizona. those schools will recruit over them without a second thought and seem to have no real interest in their long-term development. i would also add unc, but they just won a championship without a one-and-done, so i cant really include them on that list right now. so yeah, i hope that a kid like mccormack realizes this and chooses to attend school elsewhere.

Not every kid offered by Duke ends up at Duke.

Not every kid offered by Duke ends up at Duke. True, but with only very rare exceptions, none of them end up at Georgetown.

Not every kid offered by Duke ends up at Duke. True, but with only very rare exceptions, none of them end up at Georgetown. In the past few years, that has been true. But we have a new coach with his own reputation. If he wasn't going after kids like this and trying to reestablish Georgetown as a destination on par with Duke for top recruits like this, I'd be disappointed. We aren't that many years removed from being considered a top destination and pulling in top 50 recruits like Porter, Copeland, White, and even what was thought to be a potential one-and-done top 10 caliber recruit in Greg Monroe. And as a big man would you rather be coached by Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, whose top successes in coaching big men include Hall of Famer Yao Ming, future Hall of Famer Dwight Howard, and Al Jefferson, or Coach K, whose top successes in coaching big men include the Plumlee brothers and Shelden Williams? We may have long had the moniker of Big Man U, but now we have the best big man coach in the game coaching our big men.

Yeah, I guess we should just give up on recruiting any kid who has interest from UK, Duke, UNC, Kansas, Zona, etc. - basically any 5 star kids. I know things have trended down the last couple of years, but we need to overcome this defeatist mindset! We are going to lose out on plenty of these kids, but we still have positives to offer.

We were one year out of a Final Four when Greg Monroe happened. We're not in that position today to stack up against a Duke offer - we haven't made the tournament in two years, that's why the administration fired JT3. So you're saying people want to be coached by a guy who has never coached college or been a head coach at any level in his life, instead of a HoF Coach who's the best living college coach out there at the school that will put you on TV more than any other in the premier conference in America? Wire quote - you want it to be one way, but it's the other way.

There isn't a long list of talented bigs in the 2018 class, but David McCormack could be a breakout player this spring and summer and compete with five-stars Nazreon Reid and Silvio De Sousa. The 6-foot-10 center out of Virginia played with Oak Hill Academy during his high school season and transformed his game. Even with the team loaded with Billy Preston, Lindell Wigginton and Matt Coleman, he found ways to contribute, averaging 10.6 PPG and 8.5 RPG. I watched him completely dominate 2019 five-star Onyeka Okongwu of Chino Hills as Oak Hill ended Chino Hills' two-year win streak earlier this year. After scoring 20 points in his second game playing on the adidas circuit, it looks as if his stock could keep rising into the summer season. McCormack's latest offers were from Duke, Virginia, Oklahoma State and LSU after a strong weekend for Team Loaded. He already held offers from top programs such as Kansas, North Carolina, Maryland and Louisville. Expect a handful of other schools to get involved as the spring progresses. McCormack has said in the past that he isn't in a rush to narrow things down and is open to all schools that want to recruit him. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rival-views-which-2018-prospect-will-make-a-big-move-up-the-rankings-
