Anywhere but Xavier. Anywhere but Xavier. Anywhere but Xavier. Anywhere but Xavier. Nah, disagree. Hope to keep all the talent in the BEast. Hope he picks X. I'm not crazy about McCormack's current game and think he needs a lot of work in terms of developing a skill set and defensive tenacity. I do hope he ends up at Xavier as I think Coack Mack will further his development the best out of his options and want the BIG EAST to get as much talent as possible. Unfortunately I think he picks Kansas.

Mccormick or Bey in an Xavier uniform will only provide more fuel to the skeptics who felt we didn't recruit them hard enough.

We see kids commit all the time coming off Un-officials. Based on what he has stated publicly about Kansas versus other programs. McCormack raved about his OV to Kansas and it opened his eyes. He may think Kansas gets him to the Association. I hope he goes to Xavier. He has tremendous longterm potential. I haven't been shy in saying that I think he is overrated as a top 50 prospect in a very weak class. I don't think he makes an immediate impact at Kansas based on their roster in 2018-2019. I also think he needs to get somewhere they will be invested in his longterm development like Xavier. Kansas could just recruit over him in a couple years. When I was coaching, I used to tell my student athletes to never take OV's to schools within driving distance. Use the OV's to schools that you need to fly to or family would need to book a hotel room for. That's why I don't take the Xavier Johnson has to take an OV to Georgetown seriously.

He's going to Kansas and that makes me sad. He's the rebounder we sorely need.

No doubt kids commit without taking officials(Carter confirms that) but officials given/taken are a good barometer.. Don't think he took an official to Kansas, unless I'm reading the reports wrong he's only been to NC State & Xavier officially.. I think he had a scheduled visit to Kansas & Ok State. He gave nice props to one of the assistants @ Xavier by saying he was a "great big mans coach".. As I posted earlier he's a perfect fit for what Xavier does..

Meant McCormack raved about Unofficial Visit to Kansas. I believe he is supposed to go back for Late Night at the Phog

Kansas has a top 50 center committed already Silvio De Sousa is an explosive, physical Forward who might be able to play the Center in a small ball set alongside the Lawson brothers or Lightfoot for a short periods, but he's not a 5 in what Kansas typically does. Doubt he plays the 5 much if at all.

I thought for sure he'd pick Xavier, think it's a mistake for him but I do wish him the best of luck.. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/sting-factor-mccormack-to-kansasSting Factor: 9
Xavier made a major swing at McCormack. They secretly hosted the top-50 big man for an unofficial visit in the summer as well as an official this month. However, the two trips weren't enough, and now Xavier must regroup and find the proper replacements for outgoing seniors Kerem Kanter and Sean O’Mara.
While they do hold the commitment of Jake Walter, a big man that should be good in time, Xavier must nail down at least one frontcourt commitment this fall. This weekend, the Musketeers hosted junior college big man Shaq Carter; they will then host Rivals150 forward Jermaine Harris next weekend for an official visit. They are also in pursuit of Darius Days, though they are playing catch up, and would love to add local big man Jaxson Hayes in the coming weeks, though the recent offer from Kentucky may have changed things some.
The loss of McCormack stings, but thankfully for Xavier fans, they remain entrenched in the recruitments of several talented bigs this fall.

Maybe Kansas has a solid plan in place of his development. He probably gave up a starting job from day 1 at Xavier (based on current roster) to a playing behind Azubuike. Good luck to McCormack at Kansas.

Preston has a chance to be one and done this yr. Plus Preston is more of a 4 man that can play some 3 because of his ball handling and shooting. McCormack on the other hand is a center that can play some 4'......
