You are correct...Anthony had a very bad ankle injury early in the season against Temple I believe (preseason NIT?) and was never the same thereafter in terms of his explosiveness and athleticism...very unfortunate as he was an outstanding player coming out of St. Anthony's and I remember being very impressed with him at the Capital Classic prior to his freshman year...he gutted it out but was clearly limited due to that injury. I recall Bob Hurley having a blurb in his book about Perry's shot mechanics have deteriorated in a very obvious (and fixable) way under Esherick.

As I recall, both Milton Bell and Michael Tate-Venson were huge recruits nationally and flopped historically at GU. Both were McDonald's All-Americans. But both struggled in different ways. Bell was a legitimate recruit. At the 1988 McD All Star game, the erstwhile Dick Vitale (who never tired of creating nicknames) saw him run down the court and said, "Ding Dong Bell! Ding Dong Bell!" Well, he was, sort of. Bell never took college seriously. Not only did he fade off the page at Georgetown, he flunked out of Richmond before he played one game for the Spiders. Said his former coach Dick Tarrant, "I guess he figured we could give him all A's, B's and C's just because he could run, jump and dunk." By contrast, Tate/Venson never fully recovered from knee problems and he made the best of what he had to work with. He's now a Georgetown parent, so maybe he'll reconnect with the program. www.guhoyas.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/mikayla_venson_1019192.html

May already be seeing the Waters-effect with Walker's commitment. Staff continues to pursue Brown in a big way. We have as good as shot as anyone. Very good, would make an incredible class.

The great thing about the Brown recruitment is that as of now, he's planning on announcing in the early signing period (in Nov). That'll give the staff an earlier opportunity to turn to the 2018 class during their HS seasons and find some guys outside of AAU.

He'd have been correct in that assumption.

Don't forget Craig "big sky" Shelton. There was an article on a dream top five players in Sport magazine before he began at Georgetown. Unfortunately after a devastating knee injury he never was the same player. That level of recruit however elevated Georgetown from local regional stature to the national picture.

Team effort. Broadus has been on Brown for a while now though.
