Only caught the last game. Derrickson was a beast. Best player on the court. Trey played a good game but had a size advantage throughout. Blocked 4-5 shots and had some nice turnarounds. Cameron was as usual; made a couple 3s and played a solid game. Mulmore was solid but his shot wasn't falling. For a guy billed as a scorer, he had a number of assists and was setting up his tteammates. Mosley played a very smart game. He handled the ball well, guarded bigger guys, and looks like he'll be a player. Guest appearance from Riyan Williams.

Derrickson was a totally different player. He repeatedly drove from the 3-point line to the basket for lay-ups, dribbled behind the back while on the run, went coast-to-coast, blocked shots, played like a man possessed.

Goodness he looks lean and mean. We'll have to wait to see how it translates on the floor but one has to really admire Doc for putting in the work over the past couple of years in completely transforming his body. There's no substitute for that "want to" factor and MD clearly has it. Much respect to him for putting in the time and work at something that isn't fun or easy. I hope some other guys are trying to keep up with his workout schedule. I doubt many could.

One thing I noticed the most during today's action was just how much weight Jessie has lost. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if he has lost close to thirty pounds or something because he looked like a twig out there. Not sure if that was intentional or not but somethings at least to note.

Heard from a few people conditioning has been a major emphasis since the season ended

Now, that's what I like to hear--Derrickson driving to the hoop, playing like a man possessed!

I can add a little perspective on Saturday's games. Pryor was listed as playing for The Tombs but did not. Mulmore did (even though he was listed with DCX). Akoy and LJ were also missing from their expected lineups.
Derrickson: I agree with everything others have said about how good he was. He looked very fit, and played like an all-star in mid-season form.
Mourning: He also looked surprisingly good, especially his shot. I had him for 11 FGs, including one three.
Campbell: I know Tre takes a beating on this board, but to me he looked really good on his first day. Very fast, great handle, crisp passing, several pretty drives to the basket and a couple of threes. Stayed in front of his man on D. A few errant passes, too, but he would have had a bunch of assists if his teammates had been able to finish.
White: He played very few minutes, which makes me wonder about his readiness to play. He looked OK while in the game, especially rebounding well. And he looked like he may even have grown a bit; he played the 5 when he was in the game. But I came away with some concern about his health.
Jessie: He looked very fit, which was good. But his game wasn't really there yesterday, badly missing several shots, getting caught flat-footed on D, indecisive with the ball. It's only one game, and he did snag several rebounds. But Henry Sims was the star on Jessie's team (Clyde's), very active and looking great, especially in comparison to Jessie. It may be worth mentioning that the team was short-handed, dressing only 5 guys compared to their opponents' 10.
Others: Mosely looked solid, a keeper, smart with the ball. I had him for 18 points and it could have been more. Mulmore looked OK, but I need to see more of him; he didn't stand out. Kaleb's minutes seemed limited, not remarkable either way. Reggie was good at times but inconsistent.
