latest tweet from Hoyas 247 on Ewing:
Hoyas247 @hoyas247 Can confirm that no official decision has been made on Ewing Jr. being elevated. Could it happen? Sure. Has it "officially" happened - no

Did I ever suggest otherwise? Not sure where you are going here Professor. I assumed you meant AI when you said "former" point guard. I mean who else do we have that could realistically come in and coach while also being a draw for current kids and recruits. Chris Wright, Sleepy Floyd, Charles Smith? I was referring to two posts just prior to mine by NCHoya and oldhoyafan: Would love to see III get a former pg who has some NBA experience who knows defensive concepts for guard play. He will need someone with this experience and knowledge to make the transition he is about to make. I don't think it necessarily has to be a former Hoya or with prior coaching experience, just someone who has played the position in college and pros and has the aptitude to pass on that knowledge to today's young players. It is unfortunate that Brandin Knight is joining Rutgers, he would have fit this profile very well. My comment was based on their's and was not limited to former Hoyas. Going after the best person available would be the better option. For what its worth, I love AI, but I don't think being a GU asst. coach would be the best situation for him nor for the Hoyas. Getting his help with recruiting - within the rules - would be great. The other former Hoya PG who could be considered, though he does not have NBA experience, is Jon Wallace. There's been plenty of speculation on this board about his aptitude for coaching when he stops playing overseas. Final thought - I hope JT3 pulls in someone who can help out in a big way on the recruiting trail AND coaching the team. Is PE Jr that guy? I loved him as a player and was happy to see him back with the program. Is he the guy? We shall see.

DOBO can recruit in place of a third assistant while we're looking for a new assistant. Maybe Pat proves himself during this time and it becomes permanent, but at this point I assume it's just a stop gap.

"Kevin Sutton might not be the only Georgetown assistant coach to leave DC this off-season. Stay tuned!"
Anybody have a clue as to what's going on?

I'd wait on terming this as assistant coaches jumping or being pushed out until another assistant coach, in fact, does leave (either on his volition or the volition of another).

This is where we cue "Tubular Bells" to play in the background.
