probably not as is, definitely not if we land pryor and also definitely not if Tre doesn't develop some sort of offensive threat. nobody fears the occasional floater.
I think the current guard madness is just that, but landing Mulmore and Pryor on top of Jiggy is OK by me. They are all ballers.

The 5th year kid Barry is visiting FL this weekend. Would love if he popped and took out the Gators as an option for Pryor.

Of the six guards listed (Pryor, Mulmore, Peak, Campbell, Mosely, Johnson) - none are true point guards. Moore is a true point guard. If he's at all interested, we should pursue. I agree none are really true points. LJ can take people off the dribble in space and hopefully both Mulmore and Pryor have that same skill, but we won't know until we see them against Big East defenders. Kaleb will be a good player but he doesn't have that as part of his game. Campbell has the speed but not the "wiggle" that guards need to be able to beat a defender one on one off the dribble and get to the rim. Tre doesn't seem to be able to do it even in a Pick and roll situation. Mosley is going to be coming in as a true freshman and it would be a lot to ask of him to show that in his first year. Some guards just have that elusiveness and some don't, and unfortunately last year LJ was the only player on the team that had that ability. Some guards show that ability to some degree in high school where they are far and away the fastest, strongest and best athlete on the floor, but doing it in college against really good players takes a special ability.

I don't see Campbell playing nearly as much as he did last year. Ouch. And I agree we should about not having true points and we should go after Moore.

I don't see Campbell playing nearly as much as he did last year. Or maybe Tre works his butt off and earns time next year!

Tre is a very quick undersized wing, at least for now!

Campbell is not a true point guard? Based on what we've seen the last two years? No.

Campbell is not a true point guard? Based on what we've seen the last two years? No. There was a conversation of a role player a few days ago on some thread. I'm too lazy or uninterested in going back to figure out what thread. My point is Tre is the definition of a role player. He is absolutely NOT a point guard. If you seen him play in high school at St. John's, he didn't play the point his senior year. His role next year should be as a spot up shooter. That's the role he showed promise in as a freshman. When Tre was given more responsibility this past season, he absolutely crapped the bed proving that he is more suitable in a role as an off the bench shooter who can be a spark plug if he's on, much like Reggie Cameron. Nothing wrong with being a role player if the player or players accept their roles. If they buy into their roles 100%, they can have staring moments like Jenkins did in the championship for Villanova or Steve Kerr and John Paxon had on the Chicago Bulls Titles in the 90's. Note: The purpose of my comment is not to rehash that old conversation about what or who is and is not role player.

I always love how we as a fan base always take the position of the staff and never the prospect. Right now Pryor is in the position of power. He has worked his tail off and because of the rules is afforded this luxury of being recruited all over again but at a much higher level. You have to look at it from a courting standpoint and that the conversations between the staff and him are a getting to know each other steps, and the visit will be the major courting period as they both try to decide whether to commit to a 1 year relationship. But don't get it twisted, Pryor is the one being wooed here and is in a position of power. If he doesn't here and is reassured that he's going to get exactly what he's looking for in this 1 year relationship, he will move on and look elsewhere. You have to believe he's looking for a place he can maximize his playing time and abilities at a high level which probably means an opportunity to start, which he has earned the right to request that. I actually think he could start for us next season because he brings a unique set of qualifications to this current Hoyas roster including style of play, skill set, physical and mental maturity. I also think that the other schools recruiting him can provide him the same luxuries. Gonzaga is a team where Pryor would start on the wing and could all but guarantee him an opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament next year. For all those reasons, unless he is bowled over by what the staff is offering, I see his recruitment stretching to end of April and maybe even early May. I also wouldn't be surprised if more schools don't get involved now that the season is completely over and we are in full blown recruiting mode. We already see Kansas sniffing around. A school like the Villanova could get involved as they have 2 open scholarships and are a guard heavy program. Based on what other recruits decide there could be a dominos effect that land in 5th year recruits like Pryor's lap. But don't get it twisted, it's in no way up to the staff to just bring him in if he can contribute. You realize Gonzaga needed to win their conference tournament in order to make the NCAAs this year and lose their best two players in Wiltjer and Sabonis. plus two other rotation players. In no way can Gonzaga come close to guaranteeing a NCAA spot next year. St. Mary's dominated the conference last year beating gonzaga 2 out of 3 times and they return Everyone. 18 straight years in the NCAA tournament plus multiple high major transfers in Johnathan Williams and Niles Williams-Goss coming off red shirt transfer years and a more then likely NBA level center in 7'1" Karnowski coming back to school after missing last season with an injury. All that adds up to safe bet that Gonzaga is all but guaranteed to make the NCAA tournament next year as they have the previous 18 years.

Akoy and DSR are showing him around campus right now Seems like Akoy is involved with every recruits official visit. Says a lot about the quality of his character and he's yet to even play a game for the Hoyas.

Speaks well of the program to have the guy who is departing, accompanying his potential replacement. I hope we get this kid. Adding Mulmore and Pryor at this late date? It would be quite the coup.

I think he adds a different perspective as a transfer student that guys like Mulmore and Rodney may be more inclined to hear than a normal recruit. He's also very personable. Rodney says he's add scoring and leadership to the team. Not sure how 20+ ppg in the NEC translates to Big East play but I say sign him up!

Let's hope he is as successful for us as he was against us!

Did he know Pryor back when they were in high school?

His visit is still happening and is going really well by all accounts. Great to hear; thanks for the update. Adding Pryor would be outstanding; another guard to add to the mix and since he's a grad transfer he balances the roster and leaves another spot open for the 2017 recruiting class. Most importantly, we would actually have competition for minutes at the guard position. That's something we haven't had in a while, and that competition makes the team and the individuals better.
