get back to playing start-to-finish defense. Then get out the way and let these guys create for themselves. Finally, play to improve, not just to win the next game. Yeah, it's all about the defense. I think Peak, White, Copeland, Derrickson and Govan will mature as scorers that can create for themselves, but will we adjust and finally play some defense? Who knows.

Adjusting defense is first priority. Get back to being one of the best defensive teams in the country.
Stop fouling.
Be better in February and March than in November and December.
Recruit guards who can penetrate and dish the ball. Point guards have been asked to be floor generals in high school. Get one.
I don't expect them to never lose to a less talented team. A lot of this is on the players. I do expect them to have a winning record though (more than 20 wins). .
Begin to change the narrative around this program.

First off kinda think JT3 blew the season. He had to see in the overseas trip that this team kinda play man to man defense to start the season, if he didn't know it then he definitely should have known it after the Radford game. I'm not saying he should get fired this year cause I think he deserves another year unless it's like this one then it's time for him to go just think he had the team unprepared. I actually think we should have played more zone and not that match up crap that we played a few possessions each game that always left some in the middle or a three point shooter wide open. We needed to play a real zone where the player plays there position and not there man. Next year I hope 3 actually plays a aggressive full court defense where we trap the first pass hard with Ike, Lj, Kaleb and Tre or Jagan or SRD I think it could work and speed the game up for us. Personally I think the offense might be better next year, I liked DSR he's a all time top ten Hoya guard but he was a ball holder and that wasn't his fault he wasn't a point guard he was a scoring guard and you can't score without the ball. This year I think you will see better ball movement which will led to better shots. I think this off season everybody needs to have that chip on there shoulders and get at in my personal opinion this is what they need to work on.
JT3 needs to let the players play not saying abandoned the offense just make quicker cuts and also if it's not working go to something else like we did in the Marquette game when Ike was doing work out of the 4 high set. On defense we really need to full court trap aggressively. On the recruiting front he should be at every game that takeover has this year and if he can he should be at boo's and loadeds to.
Lj should work on his leadership that's what we needed this year you want your best player to be your leader and I think he has it in him.
Ike needs to work on his handles. I know he wants to be a jump shooter but look at his best game this year what was he doing going to the basket then was using his one dribble pull up which he is really good at.
Govan hit the weights hard big fella
Marcus work on your post up offense
Kaleb needs to get with Ike and work on there handles together.
Tre confidence cause right now he has none. Either with the jump shot or off the dribble
Reggie defense he needs to set two cones up and set slide all summer long.
Trey needs to get with Govan and hit the weights. Our bigs lost a lot of rebounds that were in our hands
Paul needs to be healthy and bring that all around game going a little bit of everything
Akoy needs to bring that energy something we were also missing last year
Jagan needs to bring that do anything to win edge not dirty just 100 percent effort all the time

MCI, I'm certainly not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't expect. I do note that you are expecting either a 1 or a 2 seed in the NCAAT. Any team that beats all the cupcakes in the OOC, wins all but one OOC game against the good opponents, finishes in the top 2 in conference, and gets to the BET final is going to be no worse than a 2 seed. Eh...you may be right. Though a third seed could result from that or even a fourth seed if the conference RPI takes a hit because not enough good players returned overall for the league. Maybe. My point simply was that you expect us to be very, very good next year. A huge improvement over this year. Which is fine. I expected us to be very, very good this year!

Continuing to ignore people's responses and their reasonings only to repeat yourself is pretty troll-ish imo, but everyone has a different definition of what a troll is.

One thing for certain - at least JTIII and fans won't be able to point to the team's inexperience as an excuse for underperformance. With 1 senior, 4 juniors and 3 sophomores (and only one incoming freshman) in the rotation, this is definitely a make-or-break year for the program. Can't blame how hard it is to teach the "system", the leap necessary to play high D1 defense, or any other shortcoming based on youth/inexperience. I'm looking forward to that, for a change.

At one time or another, you've basically called anybody who make a reasoned response to your posts a troll (including tashoya and yaboy). So I guess I should be happy to now be a member of cosmo's club.

Here are my expectations for the staff/ program:
1) Recruit like CRAZY. Leave no stone unturned. Bring in some new talent for the future.
2) Come out confident, proud, and unapologetic. Run your offensive and defensive sets and do not be scared into changing those. If you choose to make adjustments based on talent, etc., fine, but do not give in to any external pressure, whether in terms of negative recruiting, pundits, fans, etc.
3) Play HARD and TOUGH. I am 100% fine with hard fouls that prevent layups. I am 100% fine with real, physical basketball. I would like to see a reduction in needless fouls, i.e. moving screens, hand-checking thirty feet from the basket, etc. But do NOT bow down to these insane rules- play real basketball. Also, I want to see our players box out Wes-Unseld style- i.e. pin someone with your butt/ back/ legs and physically move them to establish position.
4) Offseason strength and conditioning that would make any SEC football team blush. I have always said and continue to say that basketball players should lift weights as hard as or harder than football players. Transform as many guys as possible physically.
5) Try to have fun and try to cultivate a positive attitude among the players.

In addition to the obvious things (ie offensive creativity and defense), my goals are that we adapt to the changing college basketball game:
1) All players need to learn how to draw a foul. Ie more head fakes to get their defender in the air, jump stops, etc. More "faking" when you get hit ie throw your head back or arms back like European soccer players. Some will disagree with this, but literally everyone is doing it and we are behind. 2) Scrappy plays ie tip outs. If you are not in position for a rebound, jump higher than the other guy and tip it to someone else. These little things need to be learned and practiced. 3) The program needs to get into the digital age. Ie, JT3 twitter account, more interviews, more access to the team. Start advertising the things we are doing right as a program using multimedia. I'd love to see video of off season workouts, guys going to class, etc. We need a PR team. Fans want to feel like part of the university and part of the team. This will go a long way towards helping us rebuild the brand. Jay Wright did a lot of this even when their team was bad (2010-13), and it paid off.

The bottom line is that everybody needs to play better. All years, but especially the rising juniors.

Look, this is fantastic and the highest form of art, no question. If only it hadn't been on the same day as the "lower level seeds" comment. What can you do--we can't all draw Dayton, MTSU, and Gonzaga to get to the Elite Eight.

Bottom line is the Syracuse run and the level that Villanova has elevated its program is going to further put pressure on this staff and program. Excuses by the board are tiresome and as we watch a Final 4 with Syracuse and Nova it only hurts more. Time for accountability which is the point of this thread. What do we need to see in the near future as I think other than a few apologists that don't go away we are tired of the excuses and performance.
