So what upsets are people picking in the round of 64?
Mine are: UConn over Colorado in the 9/8 (not sure about this one) Wichita St over Arizona in the 11/6 (If they win the playin- I also think they could make the S16) VCU over Oregon St in the 10/7 Dayton over Syracuse in the 10/7 (can't pick the OJ) Gonzaga over the Hall 11/6 (tough choice on this one but the Zags have more NCAA tournament experience) Butler over Texas Tech 9/8 (probably wrong but BE bros) Providence over USC 9/8
Other upsets that I've seen picks for are: Iona over Iowa State 13/4 SF Austin over WVU 14/3 N Iowa over Texas 11/6

The first 10 minutes of this broadcast has been devoted to the 2013 FGCU run. Why am I still watching?

Fairleigh Dickinson has bareleigh shown up so far. Florida Gulf Coast leading 23-6 at the 10 minute mark.
EDIT: Nice of truTV to rip off my "bareleigh" pun with its halftime graphic.

Fairly Ridiculous doing itself proud.

Creighton defeated Alabama 72-54. The Big East's record is now 27-18 versus the P5 conferences this year.

Here's a different take. FGCU is a 16 seed. KenPom gives them a 6% chance of beating UNC. If that happened FGCU would forever be known as the first 16 upset and suddenly our loss to them is much less relevant.

Fairly Ridiculous doing itself proud. Yep, that's what we called them, when we used to play them every year.

Purdue is my sleeper team. I think they have a rematch of the Big Ten tournament final with Mich. St. in the Elite Eight. This time they win and make it to the Final Four. This is a weak bracket with VA being the weakest #1 seed. So you never know.

The officiating in the Duke game has been brutal. The slightest bump gets called on UNCW and Duke has been getting away with a ton. It's infuriating. UNCW would be up ten if the officials had any interest in calling it evenly.

Duke is a worse defense team than we are. They are like 110th in kenpom. Difference is that they get the calls offensively, can score and have a great home court advantage.

I watch Duke and I agree they are an awful defensive team. I also see a lot of similarities between them and the Hoyas of this year. Ingram and Allen remind me of Copeland and LJ, with the big difference being that the Duke offense is set up to maximize the abilities of those two. They open the floor and let those two attack every time they get the ball. I have to believe that if Georgetown played a similar system they are playing in the tournament now and not sitting home watching. No doubt Copeland is not the player that Ingram is, but he should be better than most of the players defending him if he was given space and freedom to attack. The two other big differences is Duke doesn't turn it over all the time and they don't foul nearly as often. Part of why they don't foul is that they don't even attempt to play defense most of the time, they just try to outscore you.

Also Allen is allowed to use his off hand to push the defender any time he wants. I guarantee LJ would not get away with same. Makes a big difference when you are allowed to do that.

The officiating of Duke games is hard to watch, they get every call all game. Been that way for ever. Georgetown reputation as a physical team that fouls too much hurts it, especially with the new rules for freedom of movement. Duke is going to give up 80+ point to UNCW and still win. They play no defense!!!!

The two other big differences is Duke doesn't turn it over all the time and they don't foul nearly as often. Part of why they don't foul is that they don't even attempt to play defense most of the time, they just try to outscore you. Obviously, you want to play good defense, but there's an argument to be made that if you should defend but only to the extent you do not rampantly foul. Look at this way: the very best offense right now (Kentucky) scores about 1.22 points per possession. Even if your opponent shot free throw shots at 60%, that's 1.2 points per possession, and virtually all teams shoot free throws better than that (the one-and-one changes that number in actuality, but I am just trying to prove a more general point). Thus, defending without fouling (even if it's an awful defense) is almost ways preferable to fouling and allowing free throws, because offenses miss shots at a higher rate than they miss free throws.
