I think what bothers me most about this is that it makes me question if going to La Lumierre with Jaren Jackson as coach was a bad thing for the relationship between Stewart and Georgetown? It makes me sad to think that a player I enjoyed watching during his and my 4 years as a hoya may no longer be a supporter of Georgetown basketball. On the other hand, it is possible that Stewart had already decided against Georgetown, in that case it is possible that Jaren Jackson encouraged Stewart to take us off his list so we could move on and find another skilled Big to play in 2019. I hope the relationship between GU basketball and Jaren Jackson is the latter, not the former. This. There is enough evidence now to say JJ is working against the Georgetown program.

There's not a shred of evidence to suggest this Enj.. JJ Jr. chose a better program, chances are very high that Stewart will do the same.. JJ Sr. isn't to blame in either case..

And has been since 3/26/89 when he mailed in a 1-10 stinkeroo vs Duke.

I am not at all surprised that two top 20 players didn’t want to play for Georgetown during this stretch of performance by the team. LeBlanc/Owens is a totally different situation with a player that is likely not a one and done. Yes, I understand that there’s a rocky history between Georgetown and Jaren Jackson. But JJ Jr and Stewart still took visits to Georgetown. That’s evidence enough that Jaren Jackson isn’t outright blocking players from considering Georgetown. Also, my wife went to the Georgetown Women’s Forum back in the spring and Terri Carmichael Jackson talked about how she and her husband wanted their son to make his own choice, so they encouraged him to consider Georgetown but didn’t force him in that direction. As yaboynyp always mentions, connections help Georgetown get considered, but that’s all that should be expected.

Neither had Hoyas in the final mix, even as a courtesy. And Owens found a way to keep the Hoya light shining for Leblanc. While there may not be a smoking gun, the circumstantial evidence is beginning to show. Considering both kids and their ties to JJ and Georgetown I’d expect more from JJ. My guess is Pat would too.

JJ is the blame because he was suppose to have Jr in Hoyas diapers, a Hoyas playpen and his room painted navy and gray. Its funny how other teams get legacy players all the time but GTown only gets them if nobody wants them. Hell Quette and Oklahoma got a 5* kids because there brothers were backups. Most of the alumni on this site probably edged your kids to GTown. I'm not saying that they force the kids to GTown but most don't even really consider the school.

Jaren Jackson Jr visited Georgetown and included the school in his final five before selecting Michigan State. Besides a commitment, I’m not sure what else you’re expecting. Like I said above, you’re comparing two top 20 likely one and done players to a ~100 ranked longer term player. Those players would be looking for different things from schools.

My guess is Pat would too. ^this^ Owens was able to keep a kid interested in GTown who has no connection to the school but the Jackson's couldn't keep their son interested when they both are alumni...if you are a good parent(which the Jacksons appear to be) your child will love what you love. You have to also consider that when JJJ was starting to really take basketball seriously Gtown was probably in the Otto years. If JJ really loves GTown he is in front of the 70" cheering as Otto rips Cuse up in the Dome. Lil Jaren is watching dad and cheering along with his GTown jersey on. Its not like GTown is UNLV or Houston. We have been in the mix for 40yrs with 2 short periods of poor play, after AI and the end of JT3 to present in which we were bad. Hell Cuse and OSU are in one of those periods now and they somehow still get 4*/5* recruits.....

I for one am very happy that things worked out so well for Jaren Jr. You can't argue with the result.
Jaren loves Georgetown. Jaren didn't love the Princeton offense.

To be honest I liked the Princeton O, but felt it needed the right players, which isn't easy at a high level. But certainly fair. Still really like Jaren and hope we get one of his players sometime to build a bridge.

Zo sent his kid to Georgetown, Patrick eventually got his kid to the hilltop, Dikembe tells people his kid is going to Georgetown. So what’s JJ’s excuse?

The fact that Pat Jr didn't pick Gtown right away hurts your argument a lot imo.. PE, allowed his kid to decide which is exactly what the Jackson's did with their son.. Let's see if Dikembe's kid is a HM player before we have that debate...

Trey has always wanted to go to Georgetown. He was always wearing Hoyas gear and telling people he's going to Georgetown as far back as when he was in 6th grade. Trey chose Georgetown! Miami and Florida made a legitimate run at him late. Trey chose Georgetown...

It always seemed to me that Zo had his thumb heavily pressed on the Gtown scale but I could be wrong..

I'm not going to get into the details but Trey was always going to Georgetown because he wanted to. Zo was the one that had him look at other programs. Not because he didn't want him at Georgetown (because he absolutely did) but because he didn't want Trey to feel had no other choices...
