Bentil and Dunn each brought their A game to DC yet we still had a shot late. Would like to see us double Bentil if he gets going and force Dunn into jumpers. When Dunn is knocking down perimeter shots, they are very difficult to beat. Also think we should attack Bentil on the defensive end and try to get him into foul trouble. If Ike and LJ can compliment DSR on offense, I really like our chances here. Time to stop talking about all the opportunities for big wins and get one! Go Hoyas!

Stop fouling! If they can do that, they can win.

They have dropped three of four (with us being the lone W) and they fell to Depaul. We gotta keep their swoon going and then get payback against Seton Hall.

Stop fouling! If they can do that, they can win. Totally agree, unfortunately I just don't see the fouling issue being solved this year. We haven't had under 20 fouls since the Xavier game and it's only happened twice overall in conference play.

Lic, you mean if the guy many people thought would have a breakout year and arguably be the best player on our team actually plays well we are a different team?
Yes, agree. Hahaha.
I could actually get excited to watch games again if Isaac is really out of his funk.

Better have a plan for Bentil. One of the all time performances last night against Marquette.

Better have a plan for Bentil. One of the all time performances last night against Marquette. And they still lost. This team is eminently beatable and we should have beaten them the first time. We got this one.

We got this one. Yeah, I was wrong about them. They are just not that good. We should have beaten them, and hopefully we get them this time.

I am not sure about Providence not being good, I think they are a really good team with two first round NBA draft picks. The issue they have, and all the teams in the Big East have some issues, is they depend so heavily on their two best players. Dunn and Bentil need to play great, not just good, every game for them to win games. Those two play almost the entire game for Providence in every close game and it seems like it is starting to take it's toll on them. Bentil had a monster game last night but he is clearly hobbled with his ankle and is starting to look tired at some points during the game. He has a great motor and outworks players in pretty much every game but it looks to be wearing him down some. Same thing with Dunn, he looks tired. He doesn't seem to be able to attack for the entire game like he was earlier in the year and is starting to take some fouls where he is reaching on plays instead of moving his feet, a sure sign of playing tired.
Georgetown has better depth than Providence and needs to utilize it on Saturday. They probably can't completely stop either player for the entire game but make them work hard for everything they get and those tired legs will show up at the end of close game!!!

They've lost 3 in a row, coming off an emotionally draining 2OT loss and Bentil is not 100%. This game needs to be won.

Well, what you are explaining is why I would say they are not good. I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. We knew going into that game that Bentil and Dunn were like 90% of their team, and we basically let them score 90% of the points. Other teams have figured a way to not let that happen, usually by bottling up Dunn. That has helped Bentil, but it has hurt their team.

Busy schedule tomorrow with the Hoyas game on a channel I can get at 9am PST and the Olympic Trials for the Marathon at 10 am. While I don't think the Georgetown runner (and U of Portland grad), Stephen Kersh will make the team in the marathon, I do think the Hoyas have a fighting chance to win. Let's go Hoyas!!!

Just as a heads that it looks like the game is being broadcasted on Fox not FS1 (as shown on GUHoyas), at least on Comcast in the DC area.

Bentil was completely exhausted at the end of wednesday's 2 OT game, and he was limping up and down the court. It will be interesting to see how strong his ankle is tomorrow. But he is a tough dude, he gutted out that wednesday game and almost won it singlehandedly by hitting 3s, even though that was about all he could do because he could not make any kind of dynamic move off his bad ankle. The biggest worry is that Providence needs this game badly due to their recent struggles. Dunn and Bentil are great, but I still am not impressed with the rest of the Providence team. Keep Bullock off the boards, get a body on Bentil (Derrickson actually did a decent job with this for stretches of the last game), and challenge dunn to beat you from outside (which he did with a couple of clutch late jumpers last game).
Offensively - if Copeland maintains his good play of the last few games, we have a weapon that we did not have for the last providence game, which was close into the final minutes. We can definitely win if we play a solid game, but our "B" game is not likely to be enough against any of our remaining opponents. And we have brought our "B" game far, far too often this season!

If our guys play as confidently as they did against SJU than they will win this game. Copeland needs to continue to have confidence in his game and just allow himself to play. If that happens, I like our chances. If Bentil is that beat up then when he comes into the paint, put a body on him. Force him to stay on the perimeter. This is a game we should win, PC is playing like crap right now, and we shoudl be desperate.

He was so beat up and he goes for what 42, with Dunn on the bench for most of the double OT. I'd be worried about him if he plays 50 mins on saturday morning before our game.
