The game is on replay at 4am for those, like me, that want to get it on DVR but missed the first go around... Jook, even though you didn't catch the live broadcast, you'll want to have some booze available to you when you do because, even knowing the outcome, you won't believe it down the stretch and will need a bottle to hit.

LJ must be reading this thread He's...not wrong. Well put there, Mr. Peak II. This game was drugs because it had everything and nothing probably matters. Creighton shot 4-21 from three with those looks. I feel like I've been huffing paint for four hours.

Thank you for the link but, if one can't find enough negativity here, a clinician and a weekly co-pay may well be needed.

I did see their board earlier. Funny how the posts sound very familiar to the ones we see here after losses but they don't seem to be as defensive of the coach.

Not at all--you can't go six minutes every game with these second half scoring lulls. Not every opponent is going to cough up a hairball like Creighton did, and certainly not Providence, who is rolling right now. (And if Watson doesn't commit that fifth foul, he's taking the last shot and a whole lot better than Milliken did.) Yes, a must-win. But pretty soon they all are. Providence is 3-3 in their last 6 games. What is your definition of "rolling"? This is my second #hoyatalklogic favorite of the day! By rule, any team playing us coming off a loss is "going to be fired up looking for a win". By rule, any team playing us coming off a win is "rolling right now". By rule, the key to any game is "matching the intensity" of the opponent. The fancier among us may also add that "getting off to a good start" is key.

The press conference was pretty incredible. You can hear JT2 cursing about the refs and he says " F that.. last two games were terrible calls, you can tell the effing commissioner and everybody else in the big East that I said that". JT3 then answers the question politely and JT2 tells him to "shut up" Definitely worth a watch. Holidays with the Thompson clan must be very entertaining.

Well, I wasn't able to watch any of the game live tonight, so I'll start by saying that my usual observations will be even weaker. My wife surprised me at Christmas with tickets to a symphony performance, so I was there when the game ended. After a dinner of feverishly checking my phone, I turned my phone off outside the concert with us down 11, thoroughly expecting another loss. Little did I know that as I was soothed by the Russian masters, Georgetown was staging an epic comeback. Glad this worked out better for you. I had to miss the Utah NCAA game to attend a symphony performance in Alabama. No Russian masters at that one (except for me, obvi) from what I recall.

Because, as you know, their coach is less valuable to their school than ours is to ours. Also, ours has been more successful. And very few people are "defensive" of our coach even though you ignore it. Most of us say that there isn't a better coach that would take the job considering all that JT3 brings when one considers the academic side of things and the name value.

In retrospect, one of the most annoying officiating crews we ever got was the 2012 NCAA game against NC State: Ted Valentine, Mike Eades (tonight's lead official), and Doug Sirmons (finishing off a run of 3 out of 4 Georgetown NCAA losses that began with the Davidson game). So here's what I'm gonna say about tonight: it was shockingly terrible. I really dislike it when the Big East assigns us a crew of three guys who all primarily work other conferences. They're all on the Big East's big list of officials, but tonight you had two guys who most often work the B1G and one guy who most often works the ACC (though it's the fifth time we've seen Eades this season, tied for the most). Those kinds of crews to me are a recipe for disaster. At least give us one or two Big East guys. I'm convinced if we'd swapped crews with the Xavier-Providence game (who had O'Connell and Gaffney) this game would've been fine. What's weird is Bo Boroski also officiated this game in Omaha, and judging by the officials who were listed on the FS1 graphic, he probably filled in for O'Connell because of travel issues. We'll see when these three next work a Georgetown or Big East game.

Probably pretty similar to most of our own gatherings. They just have more entertaining things to talk about.

The conference where creighton used to play.

I don't have much of a problem with spreading refs over conferences as, in a way, I feel like it's been a shock to our teams come tournament time as to how differently games are called. Better to experience that during the regular season. I think we've just seen a LOT of bad officiating all around. It's been beyond bad. It's not just of the type where you go to Cameron and know you're going to lose because, as the opponent, you're not going to get a call. It's not remotely as predictable as that. Though, to be fair, Duke still gets that because they're Duke. It's hilarious to me that a 40 game win streak at home is never a red flag to anyone. That's not a streak. That is bullshhh. It feels very much like the refs don't know any better than the fans what should be called. And the whole "tightening up on the whistles" when things are "getting a bit chippy" has never made sense. A foul is a foul is a foul. Call the damn game.

He's taken a mid major program up into the BE. That should be pretty valuable. I've never accused this board of being defensive of our coach, I'm just an observer of others. I think those others have said if you always live in fear of change you've already lost. Also, I'm pretty sure Coach McD is a big supporter of adding a strong LAX program in Omaha. Outside the box thinker.

A foul is a foul is a foul. Call the damn game. Some of those calls in the second half were absolutely bad and had nothing to do with interpretations of rules, rule changes or anything other than bad officiating. In any era of basketball just flat out wrong calls. Those tapes should be sent to whatever group governs that and those refs shouldn't be working in the NCAA tournament in March.

So here's what I'm gonna say about tonight: it was shockingly terrible. I'm struggling to remember a game of ours where it was worse, top to bottom. Just gruesome stuff. Sending the league rep up to the Stonewalls section at halftime to tell folks to tone it down was just the cherry on top, given that no one said anything that was 1/10th as vulgar as what you hear at every Maryland or WVU home game.

Great win with a comeback like the old days when a 10-pt deficit with 5 minutes left was nothing!
