Is Pitino going to ban himself from restaurants around closing time, and his players from dormitory parties?

We scheduled dregs. Here are last year's RPIs - UNCA(242), UNCW(146), Bryant(189), Radford(154), Brown(249). Some of those teams ended up being better, some ended up being worse. What are you going to do? Even Monmouth was nowhere near as good as they are this year. Not to get off topic, but I think we have the following OOC games next year: at Syracuse at Kansas Connecticut Maryland (Big 10/Big East Challenge) Maui Invitational (which includes Connecticut, North Carolina, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) I am counting 7 tough OOC games against quality opponents. I think a dose of Howard, American, Liberty, and Central Connecticut State are needed. Yeah, I saw that. Next year will be brutal.

Wow, yeah, Louisville self-banning is a legitimate development for our chances.

And once again, the kids are punished for wrongdoing by the staff. Will there ever come a point where the coaches are actually held responsible for their transgressions?

Maybe some of the graduate transfers for next year will think twice before committing to Louisville. How happy are those two guys now that they gave up their final year of eligibility and now can't play in the tournament!!!!

Well they have suspended Magoo and Brown. They don't have authority to impose $$ penalties. Although some coaches get bonuses for NCAA tourney, etc. so a ban would cost them.

I mean beyond a slap on the wrist. Start suspending them for an entire season. Start imposing recruiting bans. Just do something that sends a real message. For decades of impropriety Boeheim gets 9 games. That's laughable. But this isn't the time nor place for that discussion.

Not only does Boeheim only get 9 games, but the NCAA tournament committee then says they will treat his absence similar to a team missing a top player. So they give them a pass and punishment all in one? Makes no sense to me.

I think a dose of Howard, American, Liberty, and Central Connecticut State are needed. In addition to those 7, the Maui Invitational has the two "mainland" games against lower-major teams. A lot of tournaments do this now--the 2K Classic's were Radford and Bryant. The "mainland" teams each play 2-3 of the Maui/Big Tournament schools, so I'm guessing the Tournament rather than the schools pick those teams. In any case, that's probably two more games that are already spoken for. If we duplicated a 31 game schedule next year, that means there are 4 yet-to-be-spoken-for non-conf games that we actually control. It'd be hard to imagine anything else besides low-major schools at home.
