Stubhub can put you on the sideline in the "lower bowl" for about $65. God knows the SJU fans aren't fired up about this, but let's see if some Hoyas can get into it. Café 31 anyone? I will be there yelling for G-fense and begging everyone to "see the cutter" on O. www.stubhub.com/st-johns-basketball-tickets-st-johns-vs-georgetown-1-13-2016/event/9390454/PS: Prime opportunity to move Govan into the starting line-up in front of his NY fan base. He has improved his D and handling enough that he is ahead of BH in the "overall" game at this point. A start could lead to early foul trouble, though SJU is not too dangerous inside. Just a thought

I will be there supporting the Hoyas. I can't imagine St. John's will bring much of a crowd. That $90 tariff for a sideline seat will keep a lot of people away. My daughter will be there representing me in the $40 end zone seats. You can get them well below face on secondary market

Yes...I'll admit I spent a decent sum on the secondary market to get a very good ticket - only about 10 rows back from the court not far off mid-court, but it was still barely three figures. Normally, those type of seats are way too expensive on the secondary market for me to afford, so I figured why not do it when I can.

You can also buy any ticket and probably sit just about any where you want...

That's all true - but since I'm not going and my daughter isn't too picky about location, I figured $40 was just about right.

One thing to note is that St. John's hasn't performed terribly in their recent losses. Neither has DePaul honestly. They're in a five game stretch with a blowout win over GW and four close-ish Big East losses where they've been within striking distance in the final 5 minutes. They'll be really hungry for their first win of the conference so I expect them to give this game their all, especially since its at home for them. Still waiting for the first time Hoyatalk predicts, "Nah, this team's spiritually broken, so I expect them to go through the motions, and we'll win comfortably."

We don't play Seton Hall until February 6th.

A good choice very close to the Garden is Brother Jimmie's bar and restaurant. They serve Carolina BBQ and good Southern dishes. Nothing fancy but a big pre and post game hangout, especially at Big East tournament time. Address is 8th Avenue, adjacent to entrance to Penn Station. Check then out on the Internet.

There can only be one... www.cafe31nyc.com/Brother Jimmy's is a fine NY City barbecue joint, don't get me wrong, but Café 31 holds a lot of Hoya memories, good and bad. Plus, it's right across the street.

So St. John's is elite at shot blocking even with Obekpa gone 2nd nationally. They're halfway decently at defending the 2pt shot 77th nationally and 77th in FT defense. In everything they're terrible. They're 302nd offensively. They don't take or make a lot of 3s and they turn the ball over worse than we do.

Much of that blocking ability is Sima (14th best shot blocker nationally), who is out injured. So even the one thing they do well shouldn't be nearly as good as the stats show. St. John's has a putrid defense. If we cannot score tomorrow, we need a lot of help.

Must win...I'd love for us to come out quick and break the spirit early. We tend to give teams hope and let them stick with us much too long.

Right on- lots of energy, hustle, and focus early may get this one done, in a sense, in the first ten to fifteen minutes of play. I want to see that old Hoya MSG swagger.

Delayed return home to stay for this game tonight. Hoping it is worth the investment in time and money, but at what point this season has this team actually had a comfortable win against a poor team? Cannot say I expect a loss but find myself surprisingly uneasy about this game.
