DePaul gifted this to us. We have a lot of issues. Will hope for sat. Also I was drinking the entire game. Will do my best to keep this up, you know to do my part.
Separately, the refs really sucked. I mean, really sucked.

We have younger guys that are more athletic and better than Hayes and for where this team is, it would be wiser to play them. He's not the next Henry Sims. Tough crowd! The kid has a "most improved" look and a BE POW award already, nevermind more double doubles in 10 games than Hops had in his career. How many didnSims had? Sims developed into a talent in his senior year somehow and turned that into an NBA career. That's not going to happen with Hayes. I would rather go young and let these guys play. My opinion but I don't think that off base though I respect you can disagree.

Wait, I thought it was against the rules this game to call the foul on DSR drives? Ha. I was thinking that. Every guard in the country gets those. DSR seems to never get them.

Final Thoughts:
1. The trio of DSR, Peak, and Ike lead the way...15, 14,13 pts respectively
2. With the win tonight the Hoyas 1-0 in Big East play and have back to back wins to end 2915
Final Grade: B
At times it was not pretty, but the Hoyas have some momentum to build off on... Onto Marquette

You already said that, do you have any point? That you're no coach. And as a poster, you're clueless as well. Coach.

We were a three point favorite and a one point favorite on KenPom. We won by 12. It wasn't perfect but it was a solid win I am certainly happy with.

The kid has a "most improved" look and a BE POW award already, nevermind more double doubles in 10 games than Hops had in his career. How many didnSims had? Exactly what I was thinking. Sims never played at the level of Hayes (where he is now). Sims loved being the team clown, but learned to focus for his final year. Hayes has always worked. He had injuries that ate chunks of two years. Hayes is a baller that is making a real difference and is putting up the numbers. At this point Hayes is playing at a much higher level than Govan. They have different games and Hayes is still playing with a wrap on his broken thumb, but playing really well defensively, great job rebounding, good job passing, and making shots. Govan's game will improve and it needs work, as his inside play is still rough on offense and he makes some silly fouls (those are reducing). Govan has good bounce. But, as for speed they are about equal, but Govan has more quickness. Hayes has better composure at this point and is providing a lot more right now than Govan.

But back to Hayes, I also respect your opinion about Hayes, but I think he has that hook at the NBA level. I would say he has the best one in the JT3 era. I think if he keeps it up, he has a pretty good chance at the NBA, but the rest of his game will need polishing. He's a GU big man with great size and a great offensive weapon. That gets him a look. Just my opinion.

After we crashed and burned two weeks ago, this team is going to have to learn to walk all over again. So this was definitely an improvement. There are no quick fixes at this point, but they should be getting some of their confidence back.

Better job identifying the three point shooters, I thought. Depaul can't shoot worth a lick, but still.
I liked that we very aggressively looked to run. We can't finish on the break to save our lives though.
We are a terrible passing team. Just awful. Not only the unforced turnovers but a bunch of turnovers or missed easy baskets on cuts to the hoop.
Brad was a much more effective rim protector today. Good job actually by all the guys staying vertical. I hope we take away a bit from the tape that it's OK to give up a hard congested layup opportunity if you don't foul and don't over help on the three. We were better with that today.
I thought Campbell was improved today too. He didn't do anything noticeably well. But the improvement was in not doing anything noticeably bad and making quicker movements with the ball.
Baby steps. Lot to work on still obviously. And goodness, can we see that 1-2-2 press a bit more? But we got what we came for.

I see Govan and Hayes and I know they aren't that far apart but I know I'm going to work with the younger players on this team. Again my opinion but I think with where this team is in terms of personnel that is the right move.

After a rough first 5-6 minutes, I thought our weak side defensive help was much improved against penetration.
